Provision of subsidy up to twenty crores for industries in Haryana
Government of India plans to convert all government vehicles into electric vehicles by 2030.
Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said, that electric vehicles are the vehicles of our future, we have to give priority to them. The Governor was addressing EV manufacturers, buyers and industrialists of Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of Green Mobility Electric Vehicle Expo being organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce in Chandigarh on Sunday. He said that today vehicle has become the need of every person. Due to this, about one point eight (1.8) crore new vehicles are seen on the roads every year in the country, while more than six and a half crore new vehicles are sold in the whole world.
The smoke and harmful gases coming out of them pollute the environment. Electric vehicles are a good option to deal with these problems.
The Government of India is moving towards converting government vehicles into electric vehicles by the year 2030. The central government has reduced the custom duty on electric vehicles from 21 percent to 13 percent in the budget of 2023-24 this year.
The Central Government has started a new scrapping policy, under which vehicles older than 15 years will be scrapped, and there is a system to encourage vehicle owners. At present, more than one Crore vehicles are eligible for scrapping in the country.
The Haryana government is also taking appropriate steps in this direction. The government has also approved the Electric Vehicle Policy 2022. An online portal has also been launched for this.
The Haryana government has made a provision to give subsidy ranging from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 crore for the promotion of micro to mega industries.
Earlier, welcoming the Governor on his arrival , PHDCCI Haryana Chapter Chair Pranav Gupta said that such expos would be organized by the Chamber in other cities of Haryana as well.
Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, I.P.S. Haneef Qureshi said that electric vehicles are being implemented all over the world. The Government of India is moving fast in this direction.
Pradeep Ahlawat, Additional Director, Haryana Transport Department has said that the Haryana government has started to include electric vehicles in the public transport sector. Very soon 550 electric buses are being purchased in Haryana.
HAREDA Chairman Svatantra Kumar Singhal said that the time has come to leave the habit of oil and move fast to adopt alternate means.

Appreciating the technique of converting old vehicles into EVs by the students of Chitkara at the EV Expo, the Governor said that the students should lay emphasis on research. Encouraging the students, the Governor also honored them.
