Dr. Ramesh Kumar Sen conferred with Himachal Gaurav Award
Dr. (Prof) Ramesh Kumar Sen, who is working as senior director & head of Institute of Orthopaedics Surgery at Max Hospital, Mohali has been conferred with Himachal Gaurav Award by HP government for his outstanding services in health sector.
Jai Ram Thakur, Himachal Pradesh CM have given award to Dr. (Prof) Sen during Independence Day celebrations at Shimla on Thursday.
Hailing from Sundernagar in Mandi district, Dr.(Prof) is a renowned name in the field of orthopedics in the region, with over three decades of experience backing him.
Before joining Max, Dr.(Prof) has been associated with PGIMER, Chandigarh and other leading hospitals in various capacities during his career.
Sandeep Dogra, senior vice president and zonal head, Max Hospitals, Punjab while congratulating Dr. (Prof) on receiving the award, said that it is a matter of proud for all of us. The award is recognition of Dr. (Prof) Sen’s long hard work and continue commendable efforts in ortho field.
Meanwhile Dr. (Prof) has a wide range of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon, apart from routine clinical work and mastering various new and unique surgical techniques in his specialisation.
He is well known for his innovations in the field of pelvi-acetabular trauma, where he represented the Asian continent in the four-member world AO pelvic expert group. In addition to more than 200 research papers including more than 100 in PUBMED indexed journals, he has five national and international patents to his credit. He has travelled extensively around the globe, conducting over 300 guest lectures. He has also been a visiting Professor in counties like USA, Canada and Germany.

Dr.(Prof) has also been conferred with 25 national and international honours for his contribution in ortho field. He has been awarded with the first ever Golder Jubilee Oration Award by Indian Orthopaedic Association besides a recipient of SAARC Countries Orthopaedic Association Award and more than 10 other orations.
