The fourth edition of TEDx Dikshant School successfully hosted an exceptional line-up of nine diverse and accomplished speakers from various fields at an independently organized TED event at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh.
These speakers shared their experiences, life stories, and insights with an eager audience. The impressive array of speakers covered a wide range of topics, ensuring a captivating and thought-provoking experience for all attendees made up of students of Dikshant Schools .
Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Dikshant Schools, expressed his enthusiasm on hosting this prestigious event, saying: “The TEDx platform is one of the most sought-after across the globe. It is our honor to host stalwarts from diverse sectors of society. We are committed to provide youngsters with knowledge and perspectives through such activities which in turn inspires them to contribute to society in all possible ways. Such live interactions also boost the students’ morale.”
Lovleen Misra, an actor, storyteller, and writer best known for her role as Chhutki in India’s first soap opera, Hum Log gave a talk titled ‘The Show Must Go On’. She shared her experiences from theatre, highlighting the life skills it teaches and the importance of never giving up hope.
Mridul Toolsidass, filmmaker and director of the National Award-winning movie Toolsidas Junior, encouraged the audience to recognize their hidden talents and use them to write the script of their lives in his talk, ‘Soul: Script of your Life’.
Sachin Jha, an engineer from IIT-Delhi and an entrepreneur who runs a chemical manufacturing business in Rajasthan gave a talk on ‘Why Profound Truths Evade Us.’
Amit Ashar, a photographer whose commercial work includes advertising, promotion, publicity, editorial, lifestyle, and photo documentary projects, discussed how a mindful way of seeing can deepen our connection with ourselves and be expressed through photography in his talk on ‘Listen with Your Eyes.’
Rahat Kulshreshtha, Co-Founder of Quidich Innovation Labs, offered perspectives on future opportunities for innovation and how entrepreneurs can contribute to shaping the next wave of media and technology advancements.
Dr Saji Varghese, Associate Professor in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at Christ University, gave a talk on the subject ‘Design Thinking for Grassroots Innovations’. He shared his journey and experiences in creating sustainable products.
Ronak Samantray, Founder of TakeMe2Space, emphasized that space exploration is not limited to a chosen few and envisioned a future where everyone can participate in space-related activities in his talk ‘The Sky Isn’t the Limit—It’s Just the Beginning.’
Dr Dipankar Saharia, Senior Director at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), highlighted the importance of local governance and the role of youth in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in his talk on ‘Viewing SDGs through the Local Lens’ while emphasizing India’s significant progress.
Tapash Baniwal, a student from Dikshant International School and aviation photographer, shared his journey of self-discovery through various interests, highlighting the emotional turbulence and uncertainties faced by teenagers. He talked about finding peace and happiness in aircraft photography, overcoming setbacks, and embracing the joy in pursuing his passions.
The event was divided into three engaging slots, with each distinguished speaker delivering an 18-minute talk that pushed the audience to think differently and motivated them.
Another highlight of the programme was the exceptional performance by the students of the performing arts department of Dikshant School. The school band paid tribute to the renowned Punjabi poet, Late Dr Surjit Pattar, through a captivating musical performance. Students also presented a classical dance performance on ‘Raag Malhaar’.
