Department of Forest&Wildlife Chandigarh Administration launched Solarised Carts
The Department of Forest & Wildlife, Chandigarh Administration launched 02 nos. of Solarised Carts for facilitating the people of the City Beautiful for sighting of migratory birds at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. On this occasion, Shri Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh in presence of Sh.Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Home Secretary-cum-Principal Secretary (Forests) and other senior officers of the Administration and general public flagged off the Solarised Carts for providing free service to the people i.e. senior citizens, pregnant ladies, physically challenged persons etc at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh.
Shri Manoj Parida, IAS, appreciated the unique initiative taken by the Department of Forest & Wildlife for running of these Solarised Carts with solar energy battery operated system which will help in providing pollution-free service to the green citizens of Chandigarh. He further presented the cotton bags to the public in order to make general public aware about the adverse effects of plastic carry bags and to promote awareness, cloth bags as a token were distributed to the general public by the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee which will help in promoting ban on single-use plastic and use of more and more cotton & cloth bags in Chandigarh.
On this occasion, Sh.Debendra Dalai, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, UT Chandigarh informed that every year hundreds of Migratory Birds like Brahmi Ducks, Common Pochards, Red-Crusted Pochards, Geese, Shell Ducks, Marsh Ducks, Diving Ducks, Coots, Stilts, Hill Kingfisher, Mallard, Pintail, Cormorants, Siberian Ducks, Cranes, Storks, Sandpipers etc. travel thousands of miles to reach Sukhna Lake, to escape the harsh cold of their habitats. These migratory birds start arriving in the Sukhna Lake from early November and their stay lasts till March or April, depending on the climatic conditions. He further stated that this service initiated by the Administration will definitely encourage the persons with old-age, disability, pregnant women to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Gautam Adani, nephew Sagar summoned by US SEC over 2,200 cr-bribery case
Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes. The duo has been asked to respond within 21 days, as per the notice sent via a US court. The summons were sent to their residences in Ahmedabad.

Powerful new missiles are ready to be used

A terminal at London’s Gatwick Airport has been evacuated due to a security threat. “Safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority. We a re working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” an airport spokesperson said. Railway services are also not stopping at Gatwick Airport station untill further notice.
Congress wins all 3 seats in Karnatka by-polls
Congress candidates registered wins on all three seats which went for by-polls in Karnatka. Pathan Yasirahmedkhan won from Shiggaonwith margin of 13,448 votes, defeating BJP’s Bharath Bommai, E Annapoorna won from Sandur with margin of 9,649 votes defeating BJP’s Bangara Hanumantha. CP Yogeeshwara won from Channapatna with margin of 25,413 votes defeating HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
