DANDIYA FEST AT BRILLIANCE WORLD SCHOOl
Parivartan Welfare Association, a Non Government Organisation(NGO), in collaboration with Brilliance World School, organised a Dandiya Festival at the premises of the School in Sec 12 here. This occasion also witnessed the unveiling of Parivartan Welfare Association’s website. The Guest of honour was Mrs. Anita Bansal.
More than 200 women participated the event. There were couples also who took part.
Renuka Sharma , Founder of Parivartan Welfare Association said, ” Dandiya is the traditional folk dance form of Gujarat , and we organised the fest to expose residents of tricity to this very energetic and unique dance form. The event gave an opportunity to women & couples of tricity to dance to Dandiya beats to their heart’s desire.”
The Dandiya fest helped tricity residents understand the dance form and by performing ‘Dandiya’ with the traditional sticks (dandiyas) they got the real feel of the dance form. The music accompanying the dance was traditional and added to the fun & fervour of the Dandiya festival.
