In a major breakthrough Anti Snatching, Robbery and Dacoity detection cell of Crime Branch Chandigarh under the supervision of Inspector Amanjot Singh arrested following persons on 4.5.2017

On 4.5.2017 a secret information was received that “7 boys who were involved in several cases of Dacoity, Robbery, snatching and vehicle lifting are presently planning to loot a petrol pump in Sector 39, Chandigarh and the planning is being made near the tube well in the jungle area of Sector 25”. On this information a police party was formed and all the above mentioned accused were apprehended from the said place with deadly weapons. On their interrogation all of them have confessed their involvement in approximately 60 crime committed by them in tri city. In these 60 crime they confessed their involvement in looting and snatching people and also committed several vehicle thefts from Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.
Modus operandi
The group of these boys are in habit of drinking and for drinking they used to rob, loot and snatch belonging of innocent people by stabbing and beating them. In three cases the persons were badly stabbed. Before committing the crime of dacoity, robbery and snatching they used to steal vehicles and on these stolen vehicles they used to roam around in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula to look for their targets, after finding their target, they used to beat him with sticks and if any person resist they don’t hesitate from even stabbing him.
On further interrogation and investigation total 24 cases were worked out. Out of which 7 are of robbery and dacoity, 9 are of vehicle theft and 8 are of snatching.
