Cracking the whip on the drug paddlers, on 4.2.2021, a team of the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police headed by SI Neeraj Kumar under the supervision of
Crime Branch Incharge Insp. Harinder Sekhon and close guidance of Sh. Rajiv Kumar Ambasta, DSP Crime has succeeded in apprehending one drug paddler namely Mohan Lal S/O Sh. Mauji Ram R/O # Village Bhadyoli Teh. Sachni P.S. Bhunter Distt. Kullu
H.P. Age -34 Years. While this team was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station- Ind. Area, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime. At about 12.15 PM, one person carrying a bag came from the side of Rajshree Hotel towards Ambala Highway and on seeing a police party he immediately stopped and tried to turn back. On the
basis of suspicion, he was apprehended and during the search of the bag the Charas was recovered from it and on weighing it found to be 6.500 kg. Consequently, case FIR No.19 dated 4.2.2021 u/s 20 NDPS Act, PS-IA, Chandigarh was registered against drug peddler Mohan Lal. During the course of investigation, efforts will be made to ascertain
the sources of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sold in tricity by arrested accused. After 2019 this is the biggest haul of commercial quantity sized by Chandigarh Police.

Today, i.e. 5.2.21, accused Mohan Lal produced before the Hon’ble District Court and his 4 days police remand was obtained. The investigation of this case is being under process.
