Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh stated that the double-engine government of the Centre and Haryana is genuinely pro-poor government and is continuously working towards economically empowering and strengthening the poor. During the Congress government, the poor had to run from pillar to post to avail benefits of schemes, middlemen and commission agents had a free run. However, in his government, there are no middlemen, no cuts, no commissions, and no need to run for any recommendations. The benefits of the schemes are directly reaching the accounts of the poor.
Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh was addressing a state-level programme under the Social Security Pension, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna, and Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana held at the Panipat Anaj Mandi as the chief guest.
Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh has provided benefits amounting to more than Rs. 100.68 crores to 83,633 beneficiaries under three ambitious schemes. Under the Social Security Pension Scheme, Rs. 22.59 crores have been disbursed as pensions to 75,330 new beneficiaries. Similarly, under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna, Rs. 15.09 crores have been allocated to 2003 beneficiaries for house repairs. Apart from this, under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana, 6300 beneficiaries have been given entitlement certificates and financial assistance letters of Rs. 1 lakh each for 100 square yard plots. These beneficiaries will receive benefits totaling around Rs. 63 crores.
He mentioned that under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojana, the goal is to reduce the electricity bills of the poor to zero. Under the Happy Scheme, each member of poor families is given the benefit of free roadways travel up to 1000 kms per year. He also informed that the Ayushman Bharat Scheme has been expanded under the Chirayu Haryana Scheme to provide health benefits up to Rs. 5 lakhs to Antyodaya families. He said that to ensure that the poor do not face difficulties during their daughter’s wedding, the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana scheme is being run. Under this scheme, a shagun of up to Rs. 71,000 is given for the marriage of daughters of poor families.
2.32 Lakh “Old Age Samman Allowance” Automated
The Chief Minister said that in May 2022, the “Old Age Samman Allowance” was started on a pro-active mode. Since then, allowances for 2.32 lakh elderly people have been automated. The income limit has been increased from Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 3 lakhs annually under this scheme. He mentioned that during the Congress regime, only Rs. 1,000 per month was given as a pension, but now his government has increased it to Rs. 3,000 per month. Currently, the government is providing Rs. 605 crores monthly to over 20 lakh elderly people in the state.
Ensuring a Roof Over Every Poor Person’s Head
Chief Minister, Shri Nayab Singh stated that the government is committed to fulfilling the dream of providing a roof over every poor person’s head. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 63,000 families have been provided houses, and 16,000 houses are under construction, with keys soon to be handed over to the beneficiaries. He mentioned that the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna is being implemented for house repairs. Under this scheme, beneficiaries are provided with up to Rs. 80,000 for house repairs. Today itself, Rs. 15.09 crores have been distributed to 2,003 beneficiaries of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna.
BJP’s 10 Years Outshine Congress’s 60 Years regime – Mahipal Dhanda
Haryana’s Minister of Development and Panchayats, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, said that the Congress government could not benefit the poor in 60 years, but the BJP government has done so in just 10 years. Every poor person is receiving the benefits of the schemes. He said that Congress leaders used to mislead the poor by lying that the BJP government would change the Constitution, but now the public knows the truth. The public will no longer be misled by Congress leaders.
On this occasion, the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Bishamber Singh, and Panipat City MLA Sh. Pramod Vij also addressed the gathering.
