Chandigarh, Haryana Chief  Minister,  Sh. Nayab  Singh Saini chaired a key meeting with the District Municipal  Commissioners (DMC) and Municipal Commissioners (MCs) to review the various projects being executed by the Urban Local Bodies department on Thursday. Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Vipul Goel also remained present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of  Samadhan Shivir, the ongoing Sanitation and Cleanliness drive, work done under making Stray Cattle free City, issues related to property  IDs, review of the SVAMITVA scheme, regularisation of colonies, repair of roads and developments works and PM SVANIDHI yojana.

While emphasising on placing Haryana on the top of the Swachhta Survey ranking, the Chief Minister directed that special work should be done to put a proper system in place for ensuring cleanliness across the state. He said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign launched by the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, hence dedicated efforts should be made to ensure that Haryana emerges as a leading state in having excellent cleanliness and improved drainage systems in all the civic bodies across the state.

The Chief Minister said that making Gurugram a smart city is on the topmost priority list of the state government, hence officers should work meticulously to expedite the works related to the cleanliness in Gurugram.  The civic bodies doing good work in the Swachhata campaign will be honoured, said Sh. NayabSingh Saini.

Giving directions regarding resolving the problem of waterlogging in the streets, the  Chief Minister said that the officers concerned should first emphasise providing a temporary resolution to timely drainage of water from the streets., till the time the projects related to the drainage system are completed.  He said that if any agency mishandles drainage cleaning work should be blacklisted immediately.  He further directed that if needed, the additional manpower need of the Safai Karamcharis should be fulfilled from the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam.

Sh. Nayab Saini said that to provide basic facilities like the installation of street lights and Cleanliness to the people living in Municipalities,  Municipal Corporations, and Municipal Councils should be the priority of every officer, therefore the accountability and responsibility should be fixed to ensure timely execution of the works related to these projects. He also directed the proper installation of street lights along with the timely replacement of the same.

Giving directions regarding the strengthening of roads in the civic Bodies, the Chief Minister said that no road in any municipality should have potholes. Monitoring of the reprepapering of the roads should be done by the officers concerned, and the entire work should be done within a stipulated time. He said that work of repair and re-carpeting of the roads should be expedited.

Monitoring of burning of Dry waste should be ensured, CM

While discussing the issue regarding tackling the issue of burning of Dry waste, which is gradually becoming a serious problem, the Chief Minister directed that the officers should take quick action on the complaints received from the burning of Dry waste, including garbage and horticultural waste like leaves are burnt which leads to thick smoke and toxic fumes. Officers should ensure that a proper garbage disposal system should be in place. Besides this, officers should also focus on formulating new plans to ensure cleanliness and tackling this issue based on the suggestions received from the general public, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Ensure Haryana  is Stray Cattle Free, CM

The Chief Minister directed that dedicated efforts should be made to encourage the people not to abandon cattle on roads.  He said that the officers should ensure timely relocation of stray cattle in gaushalas and nandishalas across the state. The State Government has a separate budget for gaushalas and nandishalas. Therefore the officers should ensure that no work for relocation of Stray cattle is hindered due to shortage of funds, directed  Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. He said that the government is giving grants for making gaushala on Panchayat land. Identification of such persons who habitually abandon their cattles should be done and strict action should be ensured against those found guilty, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

No citizen should leave dissatisfied after approaching officers for assistance at Samadhan Shivar

While reviewing the progress of the ongoing Samadhan Shivar, the Chief Minister said that the officers concerned should ensure that no citizen coming to these shivars should leave dissatisfied after approaching officials for assistance at Samadhan Shivar.  He said that efforts should be made to ensure that the grievance of every Complainant is resolved on a priority basis. Specific desks should be set up for resolving specific problems raised in the Samadhan  Shivars.  Besides this, officers should also make phone calls to the citizens visiting the Samadhan Shivar to take their feedback, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

The Chief Minister said that officers should also ensure that the staff doing day-to-day dealing with the public should have a humble approach to resolving the problems of the complaint.  He made it clear that if any citizen approaches, citing that they had to run from pillar to post to get their problem resolved, which still exists, then strict action would be taken against those found guilty.

Meanwhile, during the meeting, the  Chief Minister was apprised that  Samadhan  Shivar is being organised at all 88  municipalities daily from  9 Am to  11 Am from October  22, 2024. CM directs officers to put a system in place for the distribution of SVAMITVA cards at the Samadhan Shivars only

While reviewing the SVAMITVA yojana, the Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to ensure that by November 30, the pendency of the SVAMITVA  cards should be zero. He said that the officers should fix a day to distribute SVAMITVA  cards in the Samadhan Shivars.  Phone calls and messages should be made to the beneficiaries informing them to collect their SVAMITVA cards from the Samadhan Shivar.

Furthermore, the Chief  Minister directed the officers to clear the pendency reported in the work of property IDs at the earliest. He said that a district-wise road map should be prepared to complete the pendency work and removing the discrepancies, if any.

International Gita Mahotsav to be celebrated in Kurukshetra from November 28 to December 15

Tanzania to participate as the partner country, Odisha as the partner state

Chandigarh, October 24 – As in previous years, the International Gita Mahotsav will once again be celebrated with grandeur in the sacred city of Kurukshetra, Haryana. The festival will take place from November 28 to December 15, 2024. Since 2016, the Haryana Government has been celebrating the Gita Mahotsav on an international scale, enhancing the state’s reputation both nationally and globally. Each year, the festival is also hosted in a partner country, spreading the message of the Bhagavad Gita worldwide.

Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, who also serves as the Vice President of the Kurukshetra Development Board, chaired a review meeting today at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, to oversee preparations for the event. The meeting was attended by Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal and renowned Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj.

It was informed in the meeting that Tanzania will be the partner country, and Odisha will serve as the partner state for this year’s International Gita Mahotsav.

The Chief Minister said that special attention must be given to cleanliness throughout the city during the celebrations to ensure that visitors from both India and abroad experience a pleasant and orderly environment. He directed that social and religious institutions, resident welfare associations, and the youth of Kurukshetra district be actively involved in this effort. He said that a special cleanliness campaign, named Divya Kurukshetra, should be launched in the city, and he will personally participate in the initiative to encourage public involvement.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that the grand celebration of Gita Jayanti will take place on December 11, 2024. The main events of the festival will be held from December 5 to 11, while district-level Gita Mahotsav programs will be organized at district headquarters from November 9 to December 11.

An initiative to boost the festival’s reach through social media was also discussed. The Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages, and Culture will organize a YouTube competition with the theme ‘My Favorite Shlok in Gita.’ Participants can submit videos, and the most liked entry will receive a prize of Rs 1 lakh during the festival’s closing ceremony.

The Chief Minister was further informed that a national-level exhibition and live broadcasts will be showcased at four prominent religious sites across India: Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, Dwarka in Gujarat, Udupi in Karnataka, and a significant religious site in Odisha.

Thousands reach Samadhan Shivir in 3 days, 30% of grievances being resolved on the spot

Chandigarh, October 24 – The growing participation in the Samadhan Shivirs, held across the state for the past three days, reflects the public’s increasing trust. Thousands of people have attended the shivirs so far, with 878 grievances resolved on the spot. Officials from the concerned departments are committed to addressing the remaining issues within the stipulated timeframe.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, these shivirs will continue in all districts for a month, providing swift resolutions to public concerns.

Local body officials, in compliance with the Chief Minister’s directives, are actively addressing public issues daily from 9 AM to 11 AM. Across the state, approximately 30% of the complaints received each day are being resolved immediately.

On the third day of the Samadhan Shivirs, 1616 people from 22 districts across the state presented their grievances. Of these, 574 complaints were resolved on the spot. For unresolved issues, officials were instructed to address them promptly, with updates communicated to the complainants.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had recently convened a meeting with officials, emphasizing the importance of organizing Samadhan Shivirs to spare citizens the need to visit multiple offices to resolve their issues. The Chief Secretary’s office is actively monitoring the grievances received in the shivirs to ensure timely resolution.

In a recent review meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare a action plan for development based on the needs of the people. He also stressed the importance of taking public grievances seriously and resolving them without delay.

Rs 6833 crore paid to farmers for ongoing paddy, millet procurement in Haryana 

So far, 41,07,115 MT of paddy has arrived in mandis & 38,54,881 MT has been procured

Procurement underway smoothly in the state, senior officials closely monitoring process

Chandigarh, October 24 –The procurement process for paddy and millet crops is going on smoothly across Haryana. Working in the interests of farmers, the government is disbursing money for crop purchase directly into their bank accounts. So far, an amount of Rs 6833 crore has been paid to paddy and millet farmers. Out of this, an amount of Rs 6191 crore has been disbursed to paddy farmers while an amount of Rs 642 crore has been disbursed to millet farmers of the state. The farmers have expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the government.

Giving information, a spokesperson of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer affairs Department said during the current procurement season in the state, the purchase of paddy and millet is continuing smoothly in the mandis. So far, 41,07,115 metric tonne (MT) of paddy has arrived in various mandis. Out of the total arrival, 38,54,881 metric tonne paddy has been purchased by the agencies on MSP. Continuous lifting of paddy from the mandis is also being ensured. So far, 4,09,412 metric tonne millet has arrived in various mandis. Out of this, 3,93,724 metric tonne millet has been purchased on MSP.

The spokesperson said this time, to ensure that farmers do not face any problem in selling their crops and they do not have to wait unnecessarily to enter the mandis, the department has provided the facility of online gate pass. The government is giving a minimum support price of Rs 2300 per quintal for common paddy and Rs 2320 per quintal for grade-A paddy. Senior government officials are closely monitoring the entire procurement process.

Maximum purchase of paddy in Kurukshetra

The spokesperson said 9,04,980 metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Kurukshetra district, out of which 8,67,634 metric tonnes has been purchased. Similarly, 7,78,259 metric tonne of paddy has arrived in the mandis out of which 7,46,296 metric tonne has been procured in Karnal district, 7,43,876 metric tonne out of 7,64,805 metric tonne procured in Kaithal district, 4,21,039  metric tonne out of 4,59,375 metric tonne procured in Ambala district, 4,14,766  metric tonne out of 4,46,166 metric tonne procured in Yamunanagar district, 2,95,991  metric tonne out of 3,38,676 metric tonne procured in Fatehabad district. Apart from this, 1,39,387 metric tonne out of 1,55,514 metric tonne paddy has been procured in Jind district, 83,818 metric tonne out of 99,075 metric tonne procured in Sirsa district and 67,476 metric tonne paddy out of 73,121 metric tonne has been procured in Panchkula district.

Maximum purchase of millet in Mahendragarh

The spokesperson added that 1,02,322 metric tonne of millet has arrived in various mandis of Mahendragarh district out of which 1,00,955 metric tonne has been procured. Similarly, 92,526 metric tonne of millet has arrived in various mandis of Rewari district out of which 90,983 metric tonne has been procured.

Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma conducts surprise inspection of Parakeet

 Efforts in full swing to position Haryana tourism as the nation’s best

Chandigarh, October 24 – Haryana Tourism Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma said under the able leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini efforts are being made to further develop and advance Haryana tourism department. Progress has already begun in this direction.

Dr. Arvind Sharma conducted a surprise inspection of the Parakeet, located in Pipli, where he also interacted with the staff members to gather information about the available facilities.

During the surprise inspection Dr. Arvind Sharma reviewed the arrangements at the kitchen, restaurant and bar at the Parakeet. Similarly, he took information about the quality of food prepared for the visitors and inquired about the staff and also examined the maintenance record.

The Tourism Minister stated that efforts will be made to make Haryana Tourism number one. During his visit, he not only listened to the concerns of the staff but also explored possibilities for expanding activities at the Parakeet. He said that all these matters would be addressed with a positive mindset so that the visitors and others coming to Parakeet can get better facilities.

Dr. Arvind Sharma commended Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, upon assuming office, fulfilled the dreams of the 25,000 youth by providing government jobs on merit basis.

Chandigarh, October 24 – Prof. Naseeb Singh Gill, from the Department of Computer Science and Applications and Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, served as a resource person at an online refresher course organized by MMTC-HRDC, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.

In his lecture titled “Twenty-First Century Teaching-Learning Skills for Blended Learning,” Prof. Gill emphasized the importance of integrating ICT tools into teaching to enhance learning outcomes and keep the curriculum engaging. He highlighted that the future of education lies in digital learning, where technology will play a pivotal role in effective teaching practices.

He also provided practical insights into the skills required for future-ready education and urged teachers to acquire proficiency in these areas. He also introduced participants to various online teaching-learning resources and explained how to access them. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where he addressed questions from the participating teachers.

Chandigarh, October 24 – As part of the Government of India’s “Institutionalizing Swachhata and Minimizing Pendency in Government Offices” initiative, a special campaign was launched today in the Law Department of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

According to the university spokesperson, the campaign focused on campus cleanliness and reviewing pending matters with an emphasis on waste management and record evaluation. Under the guidance of a four-member committee comprising Professor Dr. Parvinder, Dr. Anjali Verma, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, and Dr. Rishabh Yadav, students actively participated in the campaign to enhance the department’s operational efficiency.

Key activities included a Clean-Green Campus Drive, Record Evaluation, Weeding Out Waste, Classroom Discussions on Cleanliness, Beautification of the Department, Sustainability Practices, Efficient Record Management, and Cleanliness Awareness Initiatives. The campaign aimed not only to maintain cleanliness but also to integrate sustainable practices into the department’s operations.
