City’s first dog-friendly café SOP, in Sector 32 Chandigarh its a first corner café in Sector 32D market, named Same Old Place (SOP) that is the brainchild of two youngsters.
Armaan Kohli (27), son of one of the Directors of famous Hotel Aroma, who had his specialized courses in hospitality industry in USA, and Yogesh Joshi (34) who is an alumnus of the local hospitality institute having worked in various hotels, including Hotel Aroma as executive chef, joined hand to create this unique enterprise.
Why dog-friendly? Armaan who loves dog and found that he could not take his ShitZu, named Donut, to any of the restaurants and hence the idea of making SOP dog-friendly for the people who can stroll out with their pet and stopby to enjoy exciting food, have coffee or shakes, at our eatery, he adds.
You can enjoy 15% discount on your bill when accompanied with your pet, says Armaan.
Having worked in 5-star hotels, cleanliness and hygiene in the surroundings is the biggest challenge and we have ensured that our surroundings are neat with no litter, and make it a good hangout for everyone, feels Yogesh Joshi.
We have also adopted a few stray dogs who now stay in our vicinity and are taken care of by us as well as the people who visit SOP.
The café offers varieties of food and one of the favourites is veg Jhol Mol Pasta which is a mixture of red and white sauce, while amongst the non-veg menu, beer batter fish is our hot selling dish, but there is a lot to be discovered, says Armaan.
