Chandigarh—Chandigarh added another feather in its cap when the city two government schools were awarded Swachh Vidyalaya Purskar-2017-18 at Delhi on Tuesday.
The official of the Education Department stated that GMSSS, Dhanas and GMSSS, Sector 18 were awarded for cleanliness in schools. The was presented by the Ministry of HRD and received by Mr Rubinderjit Singh Brar, DHE along with Mrs Anujit Kaur, DEO, MrsSukhpal, and Mrs Rajbala principals of respective schools.
It is also stated that 727 schools competed against each other at national level out of which 52 were selected and it is a very high accolade for a village and urban school to be selected amongst these.
While selecting the schools for this prestigious award numbers of parameters were taken into account such as clean and hygienic toilets, use and availability of liquid hand wash, clean drinking water, awareness program, behavioural change, clean and green school campus, herbal garden and it’s daily use by the students. EOM
