CII initiates dialogue with the Government of Haryana for calibrated restart of the economy once Lockdown is lifted
In his address to the CII members, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the relief & rehabilitation work being carried out by CII and its members. He invited CII to share a plan for calibrated restart of the economy and requested support from all quarters of industry to work with the Government and follow all required medical protocols in this war like situation.
On being requested for waiving off fixed electricity charges in the state during lockdown period for industrial consumers, Shri Dushyant Chautala suggested that the Government of India is working on a package for revival of industry in the country and the Government of Haryana is looking forward to this announcement and we will decide our package on the lines of the union government’s package.
Mr Sunjay Kapur, Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Chairman, Sona COMSTAR highlighted the concerns being faced by the industry in terms of supply chain management for essential goods, harvesting of kharif crops and obtaining curfew passes & operational permissions amongst others. CII Foundation and CII through its members have already donated around 5000 ration kits, 2000 hygiene kits, about 10000 litres of sanitiser, more than 30000 face masks, 2500 Personal Protective Equipment and thousands of pre-cooked meals / food packets in Haryana. Besides, CII Foundation has placed the order of another 20000 face masks and 5000 PPE suits with the aim of taking care of migrant labourers and care providers in Haryana. CII would submit the best practices and sector wise plan to the Government of Haryana to restart the economic activities post lock down.
Mr Rajiv Gandhi, Vice Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Senior ED – Manufacturing, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said that Maruti has already committed 500000 face masks, thousands of PPE kits and Ventilators to the Government of Haryana. Maruti is also feeding thousands of migrant labourers twice a day on daily basis.
In his response to the question of difficulties being faced in getting required curfew passes and permission for operation of industrial units engaged in manufacturing & distribution of essential goods, Shri Chautala assured that the Government of India is working on a Pan India E-pass system and the Government of Haryana will follow that system which is very user friendly and will help streamlining the entire system.
The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister assured industry that no Government Officer will harass any unit in the state in the name of COVID19 related regulations. He also assured that the GST refunds being stuck will be processed from the next week onwards.

The meeting was attended by over 40 senior industry representatives including Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, JCB, India Ltd, Minda Industries Ltd, Sandhar Technologies Ltd, JCB, Escorts, Frick India, JBM India, Carrier Aircondioning, Bony Polymers and Refrigration Ltd and Cremica Ltd amongst others.
