Chandigarh Traffic Police has organized Road Safety Exhibition/Workshop at Delhi Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh. In this road safety awareness programme Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Wing Comd. C.S. Grewal, Chief Traffic Marshal and other traffic marshals i.e. Ms. Uma Mahajan, Mr. Inderpal Sandhu, Mr. P.K. Aggarwal, Ms. Rita Sood and CTP staff participated.
There were around 400 students from standards XI & XII who were apprised of the Rules & Regulations pertaining to Driving Licence, use of Helmet and seat belt, Road Signs and Drunken Driving. More emphasis is being laid on educating students of senior classes as they are going to be road users very soon.
A quiz contest was held at the end where students who answered all the questions correctly were presented with Mementos by the SSP/Traffic & Security. Mrs. Reema Dewan, Principal thanked the entire Team with high praise for their excellent Presentation. HC Bhupinder Singh also presented a song on road safety, which was applauded by all.
More than 1000 road safety awareness pamphlets/literatures and 100 CDs on road safety were also distributed to the students and staff.
Chandigarh Traffic Police is regularly conducting such road safely awareness programmes in different schools/colleges to create traffic awareness amongst the students, who are the future road users.
