CGC Jhanjeri Introduced New Courses with Immense Placement Opportunities
Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri introduced new courses of B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. (Hons.) (Nutrition & Dietetics) and B.Sc. (Non-Medical) with a view to implementation of its motto Academic Excellence and Quality Placements.
These new courses have been introduced with a view to meet the huge demand of students and the companies for the graduates of these courses.
Admissions to these courses have already started in the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the college possesses a full-fledged team of Admission Counsellors who visit various schools of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and other surrounding areas throughout the year.
They collect data regarding the demand of 10+2 students for various courses.
The Training & Placement Cell of the college conducts a survey of the companies regarding placement opportunities of these courses. New courses have begun only after getting fully satisfied with the market demand so that the students get placed before they pass out their respective courses.
Explaining the scope of these courses Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General said that these days IT companies have started recruiting B.Sc. (Non-Medical) & B.Sc. (Computer Science) graduates.
After recruiting these students, the companies offer them special programmes for converting these science graduates into full-fledged IT professionals who can even pursue M.Tech. Computer Science .
Regarding the scope of B.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics Dr. Bansal added that a number of diseases like diabetes, obesity, heart problems, hypertension, cancer etc. need both curative and preventive nutrition.
Such graduates have vast placement opportunities in hospitals, clinics, fitness centres, Gyms, Slimming centres and food manufacturing centres etc.
