In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 12 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 12 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 1 case, PS-11 = 2 cases, PS-17 = 2 cases, PS-19 = 3 cases, PS-MM = 1 case, PS-36 = 1 case, PS-39 = 1 case, PS-Maloya = 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Action against Gambling/Satta
Chandigarh Police arrested Avnish R/o # 132, Phase-2, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh while playing satta near his residence and recovered cash Rs. 730/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 166, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Avnish later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested Kapil Chopra R/o # 1711, Village Burail, Chandigarh while playing satta near his residence and recovered cash Rs. 7180/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 195, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Kapil Chopra later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 31D, Chandigarh alleged that her son-in-law and others resident of Patna, (Bihar) harassed complainant’s daughter to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 49, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.
A lady resident of Daddu Majra, Chandigarh alleged that her husband and others resident of Sector 27C, Chandigarh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 50, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A girl resident of MDC, Sector 5, Panchkula (HR) reported that unknown person stolen away Activa Scooter No. HR-03L-8868 while parked near SCO No. 836, NAC, Mani Majra, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 236, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Burglary
Sh. Gurjeet Singh Dhillon R/o # 1229, Sector 18C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 14 taps, one pistol 7.62 mm and some clothes from his residence between 09.05.2018 to 16.05.2018. A case FIR No. 156, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Voluntary causing hurt/Criminal force to deter public servant
A case FIR No. 214, U/S 332, 353, 186, 307 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against occupants of Pulsar M/Cycle No. CH-01AW-1542 namely Rajat Tiwari R/o # 2431-C, New Sunny Enclave Kharar, Distt. Mohali (PB) and Rahul R/o # 3106, Sector-39, Chandigarh who hit Home Guard Volunteer Ram Pal while on duty near dividing road, Sector 39/40, Chandigarh on 18.05.2018. Home Guard Volunteer Ram Pal got injured and admitted in GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Rajat Tiwari has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
