Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 08 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 08 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 09 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-19 = 1 case, PS-Sarangpur = 4 cases, PS-34 = 2 cases PS-49 = 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Two arrested for theft
Sh. Sunil Kumar (Sanitary Inspector) R/o Sector 19, Chandigarh alleged that Gaurav R/o # 395, Janta Colony, Naya Gaon, Distt. Mohali (PB) and Karan Kangra R/o # 514, Janta Colony, Naya Gaon, Distt. Mohali (PB) have stolen Bio-medical waste near General Ward, PGI, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 133, U/S 379, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Both accused have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested for Eve-teasing/Assault
A case FIR No. 169, U/S 341, 354, 354-B, 323, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl against Ravinder Singh R/o # 3005/1, Sector 45, Chandigarh and Mohd. Wasim R/o # 2004, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh who eve-teased and beaten complainant at dividing road, Sector 44/45, Chandigarh on 01.05.2018. Both accused have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
MV Theft
Sh. Mahipal R/o # 696, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his Auto No. CH-01TA-5553 while parked at backside of SCO No. 62, Sector 26, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 142, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 121, U/S 279, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the statement of Kamlesh Ram R/o # 2475, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against driver of CH-01AX-3780 namely Ramesh Kumar Chopra R/o # 1024, Sector 16, Panchkula (HR) hit to complainant (Cyclist) and a lady namely Sunita (Cyclist) R/o # 1207, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh near Vikas Nagar light point, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 01.05.2018. Complainant and lady both got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh, where lady Sunita declared dead. Accused arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Prince Kumar R/o # 2919-A, Sector-20-C, Chandigarh reported that two unknown persons on motor cycle snatched away cash Rs. 2500/- near Chowk, Sector 46/47 on 01.05.2018. A case FIR No. 170, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
