A literary event to celebrate Urdu literature was organised by Ehsaas Adabi Soceity in Association with Brilliance World School, Sec 12, Panchkula. The programme saw great luminaries of Urdu literature talk about this language which due to its words, pronunciation & sound is very pleasing to the ears. The function took place at the Brilliance World School. B.D. Kalia was given a warm welcome by presenting bouquet to him.
The highlight of the event was release of a book on Urdu ‘Badi Tehzeeb Hai Urdu Zabaan mein’ authored by Mr. B.D. Kalia’ ‘Hamdam’. ” My work is not only an expression of my feelings but a tribute to the language which enjoys highest respect.” said B D Kalia.
The event was graced with the presence of dignitaries like Dr. R.C. Mishra, (IPS), A.D.G.P. , Ambala who was the Chief Guest. Janab Z. Akhtar, Editor ‘jahan Numa’ -a popular Urdu magazine, from Gangoh(UP) was also present during the event as special guest. Jagdish Chander Joshi Josh, Principal (Rtd.), Jalandhar, Namita Ramesh, Dr Mustamir and others also graced the occasion.
Jagdish Chander Joshi Josh said, “The work done by Mr. Kalia is commendable and is an effort to encourage reading and learning of Urdu language in society.”
“Urdu as a language is in itself an epitome of perfection & it is a pleasure to see a work completely focused on Urdu being written.” said Z. Akhtar.
SHAN-E-URDU Awards were presented to the stalwarts of Urdu Language such as Z.Akhtar, Editor,”Jahan Numa”, Gangoh (UP), Jagdish Chander Joshi “JOSH”, Rtd. Principal from Jalandhar, Namita Ramesh Poetess from Faridabad
“It is an honour to be associated with Ehsaas Adabi Society and our School has always been in the forefront to propagate different cultures, languages & arts. This event was a step in this direction.” Said Shyam Sunder, Chairman, Brilliance World School.
As the event had eminent personalities from the field of literature, the release of book was followed by a Virat Kavi Sammelan in which popular Scholars and poets presented their power of words. Papers were presented on the book by Dr Mustamir and J.C. Joshi “JOSH” and Z. Akhtar.
The unique recitation of poetry lines made the hall echo with clapping. The poems were on different subjects and won full praise from the listeners.
The event was aimed at increasing inclination of readers towards Urdu language. The function was a great way of celebrating Urdu literature and a perfect platform for the poets to present their miraculous blend of words.
The stage was conducted very successfully by renowned singer Meeta Khanna.
