Chandigarh Polo Association organised a Polo Exhibition match at Chandigarh Polo Club, Naya Gaon on Saturday in view of hosting the polo season of India Polo Association (IPA) to be held from December 1 to 7, 2024. The event was aimed to appraise the polo lovers about the details of the game.
Blue Strips defeated Solid White 5-2 . Among the goal scorers for the winning side were Col Manoj Dewan who scored three goals and Vijay Shakia made two goals.
Solid White team was comprises of Association’s President Dilpreet Singh Sidhu, International Polo Player Brigadier Sandeep Kashyap and Jitendra Singh Rathore while Blue Stripes was positioned by International Polo Player Col Manoj Singh Dewan, Mayo College’s player Vansh Pratap Singh Maan and Vijay Shakya.
Association Joint Secretary Mehtab Singh while detailing the game said that this 45-minute Arena Polo game consists of three rounds (chakkar). Each team is composed of three players. One horse rider plays the role of umpire.
Chandigarh has got the hosting rights of two Polo seasons to be scheduled in December 2024 and March-April 2025 wherein teams from defence and other international exposure reputed teams are participating.
