Bargadi Sacrilege case: Lawyers for Dera followers raise serious questions
Granth Sahib ji which took place in Punjab and the decision of which is still under consideration in the CBI court. The CBI, in its closure report, has described all the dera followers as innocent and hence the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Punjab Police has no right to investigate the matter.
Vivek Kumar, advocate for Dera followers, Advocate Kewal Brar and Member of the Punjab State State Committee, Harcharan Singh, spoke to reporters at the local press club. Advocate Vivek Kumar said that the CBI had been investigating in the case of Bargadi in the district of Faridkot in Punjab for the last five years in the year 2015. The investigating agency conducted a long-term investigation into the matter and closely examined every aspect. The agency, along with recording the details of the area’s panchayats, arrested several Dera followers, including Mahendra Pal Bittu, and conducted all kinds of scientific investigations including finger prints, polygraph test, lie detector test and brain mapping. Apart from this, other complainants were also investigated. The CBI came to the conclusion after examining both the sides that the Dera followers were innocent and no allegation against them was proven. The CBI marked the innocence of the Dera followers by presenting a closure report in the Honorable CBI court Mohali in 2019. At the same time, Advocate Kewal Singh Brar raised the question that while the CBI is investigating the case, how can any other agency conduct a parallel investigation! According to the law of the country, two investigating agencies cannot conduct simultaneous investigations. He said that the Mohali court has not yet decided on the closure report presented by the CBI. Therefore, the SIT has no right to withdraw the CBI probe. He also said that the CBI has challenged the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High court in the Honorable Supreme Court, in which the High Court has asked to hand over the investigation of the case to the SIT but the matter is still under consideration in the Honorable Supreme Court.

Big difference between CBI and SIT investigation
There is a big difference between the CBI and SIT investigation on the confessions of the Bargadi sacrilege case, regarding the vehicles used. While the CBI investigated all the aspects related to the purchase of the vehicle, the SIT only took possession of the vehicle and did not investigate it. While the Alto car mentioned in the case was purchased by the accused Shakti Singh on 28.8.2016, the Bargadi sacrilege case was registered only in the year 2015. Similarly, an Indigo vehicle that was mentioned in this case was also investigated by the CBI and during investigation, was found to be purchased in 2017. While the SIT did not conduct any investigation in the case, it only took possession of the vehicle. The CBI investigation clearly shows that both the vehicles were purchased after the 2015 incident. Sunny one of the accused in the case was implicated in writing the poster in this case. The CBI investigated this aspect and found that there was no match between the handwriting of the poster and Sunny’s handwriting. The SIT also messed up here and did not investigate the writing. Similarly, Sunny and Bhola were accused of pasting the poster, while the CBI investigation found that there is no match between the finger prints on the poster and the finger prints of Sunny and Bhola, both were different. The SIT took finger prints present on the poster that did not match with that of Sunny and Bhola. A big issue in this case was also that the CBI got the lie detector test of all the accused, in which they were found innocent and the CBI made it clear that the Dera followers had nothing to do in this case. On the other hand, SIT of Punjab Police did not carry out any scientific investigation like that. Along with this, the entire stack of mobile records was investigated by the CBI and no role of the Dera followers was found in this case. However, the Punjab Police fails to mention whether the mobile phones of Shakti Singh and others were within the range of the cell phone tower or not, at the time of the accident.

Revered Guru Ji always taught his followers to respect all religions
While interacting with journalists, Punjab State Committee member Harcharan Singh said that the investigation of the sacrilege case by SIT without the permission of the court, arrest of two Dera followers who had already secured bail and after 5 years suddenly adding the name of the revered Guru Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, raises several pertinent questions in this matter. He said that the Dera Sacha Sauda, respects all the religions and revered Guru ji always taught his followers to respect the holy texts of all religions, including the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He said that this is a big conspiracy, under which there is an attempt to damage the atmosphere of the society. He said that we trust the Honorable court and the truth shall prevail.
