Baazigar community has always worked to protect religion: Chief Minister

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the Bajigar community has consistently worked to protect religion. Members of this community have willingly left their homes and lands in defense of their faith, ensuring that religion remains unharmed.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was addressing a felicitation ceremony organized by the Bajigar community at the VVIP Ghat of Brahmsarovar in Kurukshetra on Sunday. Earlier, he, along with MP Naveen Jindal and Minister of State Subhash Sudha, participated in prayers at the community-built temple. During the event, Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the Dharamshala of the Bajigar community. At the felicitation ceremony, former MLA Kulwant Bajigar, Pradhan Nadar Chand, social worker Chhinda Ram, and other community dignitaries honored Chief Minister Natab Singh Saini by presenting him with a turban.

The Chief Minister highlighted Baba Lakkhi Shah Banjara’s profound commitment to defending religion, recounting how he bravely brought Guru Teg Bahadur ji’s head home after confronting the Mughals, performing his last rites fearlessly. Baba Lakkhi Shah Banjara’s unwavering dedication to protecting religion despite the Mughal terror serves as an exemplary path to follow today. The Chief Minister emphasized the society’s rich heritage and cited Baba Lakkhi Shah Banjara’s noble act of constructing a bawri in Ishargarh village, Kurukshetra, to provide water to the thirsty. He underscored his government’s dedication to serving the needy and impoverished, inspired by the ideals of such great figures.

MP Naveen Jindal emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from Baba Lakkhi Shah Banjara’s life to serve society, especially in today’s dynamic times. He underscored the government’s ongoing efforts under Chief Minister Nayab Singh’s leadership to uplift the underprivileged.

Haryana Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies, Subhash Sudha, praised the rich history of the community, highlighting its courageous contributions to social service. He assured continued government support for initiatives benefiting the community, such as the ashram near Brahmasarovar and other welfare projects.

Former MLA Kulwant Bajigar welcomed the guests and detailed the community’s social contributions. He presented the society’s demands to Chief Minister, reaffirming their commitment to advancing social causes and supporting the Chief Minister’s endeavors. Also present at the event were Pradhan Nadar Chand, social worker Chhinda Ram, and other esteemed dignitaries.
