Haryana’s Minister of Energy, Transport and Labor, Sh.Anil Vij, took a swipe at Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah by saying, “Omar Abdullah has no understanding of national politics; his focus is more on Pakistan.” He further stated, “Article 370 was not imposed by Hari Singh Ji. Hari Singh Ji signed the Instrument of Accession, which was signed by 565 princely states, and not a single letter was altered in it.”
Sh. Vij was responding to questions from media personnel regarding Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement that Article 370 was not meant to protect Kashmiris, but rather to protect the people of Jammu from the people of Punjab.
He said that Article 370 was granted special status to Kashmir by the then Congress government under Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in order to appease his grandfather, Sh. Sheikh Abdullah. Anil Vij advised Omar Abdullah to read up on such topics before commenting. Vij further remarked that since Article 370 is a creation of the Congress, the Congress will support it.
