Anil Vij, Renowned Across the Country and the State for His Style of Working
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Anil Vij is known for his distinctive administrative style throughout the state and country. In this spirit, he conducted swift inspections of 6 to 7 locations today. When asked by Media parsons about the source of his relentless energy, Vij responded, “This courage comes from the people. The strength comes from the people. My life is dedicated to the people.”
Responding to media persons after these inspections, Sh. Vij said he would be discussing today’s findings with officers tomorrow and giving necessary directions to the concerned officers and staff.
*Soil from Tangri River to Be Used for Highway Construction – Vij*
Sh. Vij said that in Ambala, the Tangri River is being excavated up to approximately six feet to prevent flooding during the monsoon, and the soil extracted will be used by NHAI for road construction. An MoU has been done between the Haryana Government and NHAI to this effect, under which the river is dugging six feet deep from all sides, and its soil/sand will be legally used for highway and national road development. He emphasized that the soil is being used following all legal procedures and warned against spreading any misinformation.
*Excavation to Mitigate Flooding – Vij*
He said that the Tangri River floods every year and there had been a shortage of soil for the ring road construction. This agreement will benefit the people by reducing the recurring flood damage. He personally visited the excavation sites from Chandpur to Shahpur.
*Inspection of Proposed Venue for Prime Minister’s Visit – Vij*
Vij also visited Yamunanagar to inspect the venue for the proposed rally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14. He reviewed the arrangements and gave necessary instructions to the officials.

*Inspection of Yamunanagar Thermal Power Plant*
Later, he visited the Yamunanagar Thermal Power Plant to understand the process of coal intake, combustion, steam generation and turbine functioning.
I*nspection of Ambala Ring Road*
He also inspected the ring road being constructed around Ambala and reviewed its width and the progress made so far. He visited a crossing on the road leading to Shamli and also inspected the RUB (Railway Under Bridge) under construction that connects the embankment of the Tangri River to GT Road. Further, he inspected the under-construction railway underpass at Ghasitpur in Ambala.
*Inspection of the Shaheed Smarak Honoring the Heroes of 1857*
Vij also inspected what is set to become Asia’s largest Shaheed Smark in Ambala, dedicated to the heroes of the 1857 rebellion – the first war of independence against British rule. The memorial will depict all the battles fought across India in 1857 to educate the public about the immense sacrifices made for the country’s freedom. A top-tier panel of historians has been formed to oversee the memorial’s development, and 700 names of martyrs have already been identified. Their names will be inscribed in golden letters.
