Akali&independent councilor of Tapa Nagar Council accuse ruling party of rigging¬ conducting fair elections
Chandigarh: The Akali and independent councilors have accused the Congress-led ruling of blatant bureaucracy for not neutralizing the elections for the post of president and vice-president of the Tapa Nagar Council. The opposition councilor says that the ruling party has misused the government machinery and powers to make it its president and vice-president in the city council.
In a press conference held on Thursday at Chandigarh Press Club, Tarlochan Bansal said that there are a total of 15 Municipal Counselors in Tapa Nagar Council. Of which our group has 8 counselors, including the Akali Dal and Independents and 7 counselors in the opposing group. The date for the election of the President and Vice President of Tapa Mandi was kept after 20 April 2021 at 3:00 pm. We came to know in the morning that the DSP has made this push only to be made the head and sub-prime of the Congress in the council. Tarlochan Bansal and others further said that it is a matter of great surprise that the arrest of Vinod Kumar Kala MSC was put in the case in which he was already arrested. The case is dated 29 March 2021, he was released on 30 March after arrest on 29 March. Vinod Kumar Kala is present in DSP office. We have photographs of it. It is beyond comprehension that in a case in which a person is arrested, then why is there a need to arrest him again. That too with such hooliganism that it is clear and clear that DSP has done all this hooliganism to make him the head of Congress. We had also put a petition in the High Court of Hon.
