Airtel rolls out beta version of VoLTE services in Punjab

Airtel today rolled out of beta/test version its VoLTE services in Punjab for select eligible customers. Airtel VoLTE, which works over 4G, will enable the eligible customers to enjoy HD quality voice calls with faster call set up time.  Customers can call any mobile, landline network using Airtel VoLTE at no additional data charges and will be billed as per existing plan or packs benefits.

Select eligible customers have been invited by Airtel by sending SMS to them to activate the trial service and share their feedback.

Announcing the beta launch of VoLTE, Manu Sood, Hub CEO – Upper North, Bharti Airtel said, “In our constant endeavor to offer world class services to our customers, we are delighted to launch beta version of VoLTE services in the state of Punjab today. We invite our customers to experience the services and share their feedback. This shall add impetus to improve the overall customer experience and enable us to make our network more agile.”

Airtel is offering a total of 30GB of 4G data to the eligible customers who complete following steps successfully. The customer may need to download latest OS to enable VoLTE switch:

  • The eligible customers will receive the SMS with the link asking to opt-in
  • Customer clicks the link, submits his/her number on the webpage gets the OTP to initiate VoLTE  and gets the first 10GB data
  • Additional 10GB will be credited once feedback is provided after the 4th week of usage
  • Final 10GB will be credited to the customer on providing feedback after the 8thweek of usage.

The aforementioned data will be credited to the customer’s account within 4 days of successful completion of above activities.

Airtel offers 4G services across India. So far, India’s largest mobile operator has launched VoLTE in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kolkata.
