A three-day long exhibition of Photojournalists Welfare Association today concludes with a seminar themed on Girl Child Education today at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16,Chandigarh. The event also witnessed the felicitation of the
outstanding women in the field of journalism, sports and education.
Archana Sethi of Punjab Kesari, Monika Sharma, Sukhdeep Kaur and
Manraj Grewal from Hindustan Times, Shayda Bano from Dainik Bhaskar,
Ranju Aeray from Dainik Tribune, Nisha Sharma from Rashtriya Sahara,
Kamla Sharma from Chahrdikala were honounred during the occasion

exhibition of Photojournalists, Welfare Association, a seminar themed Girl Child Education, Punjab Kala Bhawan,Felicitated teachers includes  Anuradha Sood, Rakesh Sahota, Rajinder Pal Jindal, Rajeev  Kumar, Satnam Singh and Prakash Singh from various govt schools of Chandigarh. These teachers apart from their routine teaching jobs, are propagating the girl child education in society. Nitu Sarkar, a wrestler and Amrit Kaur, a basketball players were also honoured during the occasion.

According to Akhilesh Kumar, President, PJWA, this felicitation is a
meager and humble attempt to encourage these under privilege school
girls. We wish our efforts will make them to continue their studies
further. He appeal from society to come forward for the cause of girl
child education.

In his address, Brham Mahindra, Minister of Health & Family Planning
and Parliamentary Affairs lauded the role of media and precisely
photojournalism for uplifting the women in society.

Also on the occasion, Anu Chathrath, Additional Advocate General, Govt
of Punjab and Satinder Satti, Chairman, Punjab Arts Council also spoke
on the occasion and highlighted the role of women in society.
Sanjay Sharma Kurl, General Secretary, PJWA, Jaswant Rana, President,
Chandigarh Press Club and Barinder Rawat, General Secretary,
Chandigarh Press Club, veteran journalists Baljeet Balli, Balwinder
Jammu, Sarabjit Pandher, CM Singh and others were also present on the
occasion.
