Special drive against consuming liquor at public place

Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 29 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 29 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 32 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11 = 1 case, PS-Sarangpur = 4 cases, PS-17 = 2 cases, PS-19 = 1 case, PS-26 = 2 cases, PS-IA = 1 case, PS-MM = 3 cases, PS-ITP = 1 case, PS-MJ = 1 case, PS-31 = 4 cases, PS-34 = 1 case, PS-49 = 1 case, PS-36 = 3 cases, PS-39 = 3 cases, PS-Maloya = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Besides this one case U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Rajwinder Singh R/o Village Jhallaur, Distt. Barnala (PB) who was arrested by Traffic staff near Airport light point, Chandigarh and 25 boxes of country liquor recovered from his car No. CH-03U-6932. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sunny R/o # 2603, DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh near dividing road, Sector-14/25, Chandigarh and recovered 4 gram smack from his possession on 21.07.2018. A case FIR No. 211, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Rohit Kumar R/o # 720/3, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh at backside of Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh and recovered 100 injections of drugs from his possession on 21.07.2018. A case FIR No. 236, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Subhash Chander R/o # 2138/1, Sector-45, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away one CCTV Camera from H.No. 1590, Sector 23-B, Chandigarh on 21.07.2018. A case FIR No. 239, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Jammu reported that two unknown persons on Motor Cycle snatched away purse containing ATM card, mobile phone, cash Rs. 7,000/- and documents from complainant near H.No. 782, Sector 22, Chandigarh on 21.07.2018. A case FIR No. 242, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 222, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohinder Yadav R/o # 23, Block ‘E’, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh against driver of car No. HR-03F-0188 who sped away after hitting to complainant’s brother namely Lallan Yadav (Pedestrian) near Shelter House, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh on 20-07-2018. He got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 218, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Raj Kumar R/o # 588, Ph-1, Harmilap Nagar, Baltana, Distt. Mohali, (PB) who alleged that driver of Truck No. HR-68B-4990 namely Kuldeep R/o # 4-A, Part 2 Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh hit to complainant’s M/Cycle No. PB-65AD-8524 near Light Point, EWS Colony, Chandigarh on 21-07-2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Driver of truck arrested and later bailed out.Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 262, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector 44, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Auto No. CH-04H-5775 sped away after hitting to complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01AL-6279 near Chowk Sector 34/33/21/20, Chandigarh on 21-07-2018. Complainant and her sister got injured and admitted in hospital. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 289, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rameshwar R/o # 116, Ph-1, SAS Nagar Mohali (PB) against driver of unknown car who sped away after hitting to complainant’s friend namely Anurudh (Pedestrian) R/o H.No. 163, Villag Palsora, Chandigarh near Labour Chowk, Sector 40/41, Chandigarh on 20-07-2018. He got injured and admitted in GMSH-16, and later referred to PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

A case FIR No. 225, U/S 323, 341, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohd.Javed R/o # 1445/13, Sector 29-B, Chandigarh who alleged that Ajaypal Singh and Nishu both beaten/threatened complainant atSector 29, Chandigarh on 18.07.2018. Complainant got injured and was admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 290, U/S 324 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Karam Singh R/o # 2245,Sector-38W Chandigarh who alleged that one person namely Gautam attacked on complainant with screwdriver at Balaji Health Club, SCO No. 87-88, Sector 40C, Chandigarh on 21.07.2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Dr. Uttam Singh Dhaliwal R/o # 5477, Sector-38W, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person sent fake email and cheated Rs. 10,359/- for giving visa to Malaysia. A case FIR No. 157, U/S 420 IPC & 66-C IT Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Rajinder Kumar R/o Village Majari, Distt. Mohali, (PB) alleged that Gurtej Singh R/o Village Dhanora, Distt. Mohali (PB) and Ram Krishan R/o # 95, DMC, Chandigarh cheated Rs. 3.18 lakh from complainant and another person Major Singh for providing job in hospital and they also given fake appointment letter of PGI, Rohtak. A case FIR No. 158, U/S 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
