Concluding ceremony for Rural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Convention Expo held
PATIALA:Former Union Minister of State for External affairs Maharani Preneet Kaur appealed to the youngsters to begin their Startups and create employment opportunities for overall development of the society. Maharani Preneet Kaur reached out to the youth of Punjab at Mohindra College, during the concluding ceremony of Rural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Convention Expo organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Smt. Preneet Kaur interacted with the students, youngsters and industrialists of Punjab during the interaction.
The program was inaugurated on Tuesday by Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh. Addressing the concluding ceremony, Maharani Preneet Kaur said that scope of employment in govt. sector is getting limited. As such, youngsters should create employment opportunities by becoming part of Startup programs.
She said that the main concern for youngsters in today’s scenerio is not employment rather skill development. Entrepreneurship programs like this being organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry play a vital role for giving a direction to educated youngsters.
Prof. B.S. Ghuman, Vice chancellor, Punjabi University, asserted that organizing such programs in future in state will help in making the youth self-reliant. He shared the idea of making Punjabi youth the global entrepreneurs via innovation and entrepreneurship. Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Handa, Principal, Govt. Mohindra College, said that such programs of mentoring and hand holding will benefit students and can be harbinger of change for the Punjabi youth for their socioeconomic development. Mr. Sumit Duggal, Co-chairman – Start-up committee in his welcome address expressed full support of PHD Chamber to Govt. of Punjab for furthering the objective of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Punjab. He said the chamber is committed to provide the enabling ecosystem for Startups and shall strive to creating linkages with academic institutions.
