JET AIRWAYS TO ADD 16 NON-STOP, WEEKLY FLIGHTS TO EXPAND NORTHERN PRESENCE

Continuing its focus on growing its domestic presence, Jet Airways, India’s premier full-service international airline, announced the introduction of 16 weekly flights that will see it connecting Chandigarh with Pune, and Amritsar with Mumbai, as part of its forthcoming Summer schedule.

The new schedule features a combination of non-stop services – including several industry first routes being introduced for the first time, as well as direct, one-stop services between new city pairs in the airline’s existing pan India network, bolstering it further.

While flight 9W 439, a non-stop offered six-days per week, will depart from Chandigarh at 14:40 hrs and arrive in Pune at 17:10hrs, its return leg – 9W 440, will depart from Pune at 11:40 hrs, arriving in Chandigarh at 14:10 hrs. On the other hand, the airline’s new, non-stop service from Amritsar to Mumbai, flight 9W 3502 will be a weekend service leaving Amritsar at 09:10 hrs to arrive in Mumbai at 11:35 hrs. On its return, 9W 3501 departs from Mumbai at 06:05 hrs, arriving in Amritsar at 08:30 hrs.

As part of the schedule, Jet Airways will also connect Amritsar with Bengaluru via a direct daily service 9W 809, offering a five-day per week return in the form of 9W 824.

The new flights strengthen Jet Airways’ ongoing services from the Union territory of Chandigarh and the holy city of Amritsar, connecting a huge and growing number of guests comprising tourists, students, and visiting friends and relatives directly with his hubs, facilitating onward connectivity, as well as a smoother, highly convenient and seamless transfer for guests.

Raj Sivakumar, Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management, Jet Airways, said, “The burgeoning demand for air travel pan-India is increasingly witnessing guests travelling to more than one destination, reinforcing our network carrier model. Guests are also preferring seamless connectivity with minimum stoppages, regardless of their city of origin. Our Summer schedule has therefore been designed to facilitate the above developments via a mix of new services – non-stop as well as direct flights, between emerging cities, key metros and our hubs in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, in an endeavour to promote faster, easier and more efficient movement of guests throughout our network, both pan India and worldwide. I am sure our latest schedule of flights will reinforce Jet Airways’ place as the airline of choice in Indian skies besides give a special impetus to connectivity, trade and development in each of the cities, including the North East.”
