Chandigarh:- Voice of Unity, a cultural organization, hosted a musical evening to commemorate the upcoming 100th birth anniversary of legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi. The event, led by President Jaya Goyal, honored Rafi’s invaluable contributions to Indian cinema.
The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the legendary singer’s centennial year. The guests of honor, including renowned gazal singer Shivnand, folk singer Sanjeev Parashar, singer Murlidhar Soni, Neena Soni, and Dr. Raju Dheer, graced the occasion.
The program featured 30 karaoke singers performing Rafi’s iconic songs, including “Yeh Chand Sa Roshan Chehra,” “Badan Pe Sitare,” and “Ankhon Hi Ankhon Mein Ishara.” The audience was mesmerized, and children and adults alike danced to the music.
Jaya Goyal highlighted Rafi’s significance, stating his songs will forever reside in the hearts of music lovers worldwide. “Rafi’s voice had the perfect blend of melody, emotions, and energy, resulting in thousands of soulful songs,” she added.
