Chandigarh, UT boys beat Delhi by nine wickets in a crucial Ranji Trophy League match being played at GMSS School Ground, Sector 26 on Saturday. After bowling out Delhi for 276 runs, Chandigarh amassed 324 runs and gained a slight lead of 48 runs. Visitors collapsed at 250 runs in the second innings and posed a target of 203. On the last day of the match, Chandigarh resumed its overnight score of 46/0. Openers – Shivam Bhambri and Arsalan Khan maintained their dominance in the game from the beginning.
The team lost its first wicket in the form of Arsalan Khan at the team score of 130. Khan scored 68 runs with the help of five boundaries and five sizes in his 81 deliveries. Bhambri held the other end with skipper Manan Vohra. Bhambri (100 not out) completed his century in the last moments of the match well before lunch. His century was studded with seven boundaries and six sixes in 130 balls while Vohra adeed. 24 runs. 20-year-old Nishunk Birla took a total of 12 wickets in the innings. Chandigarh’s next match will start from November 13 against Saurashtra in the same venue. Bhambri was awarded the Man of the Match.

Chandigarh, UT boys were on the backfoot with 203/8 against Tripura at the ongoing Col CK Nayudu Trophy match being played at Mahajan Cricket Ground IT Park on Saturday. After bundling out visitors for 216, the hosts failed to draw the home conditions against the bowling attack led by Dipendu Chakraborty and Amit Ali who shared three wickets each. Unbeaten Neil scored 42 while Harman and Nikhil added 43 and 37 respectively. Chandigarh is still trailing by 13 runs.
