CM advocates values in children to eradicate addiction from society

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal underscored the critical role of instilling values in children as a paramount strategy to eliminate the roots of addiction from society. In a resolute address at the Youth Sammelan organized by Swami Dharmdev, the founder of the National Sanatan Mahasangh, at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar on Sunday, Sh. Manohar Lal emphasized the joint efforts of parents and social organizations to achieve the target of a drug-free Haryana.

        Addressing the gathering during the summit, Sh. Manohar Lal reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to combat addiction in Haryana. With a special focus on breaking the supply chain of narcotics, a joint headquarters in Panchkula for eight states has been established, and successful confiscation of over Rs. 140 crores worth of narcotics, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

        Recognizing the indispensable role of youth in the nation-building process, the Chief Minister called for harnessing the positive energy of the younger generation to fortify the foundations of a resilient India. Underscoring this commitment, a special program for youth in collaboration with the Nirankari Mission was conducted as part of an ongoing campaign.

        On May 5, the Chief Minister made a resounding declaration of the state’s unwavering commitment to combat addiction. The government’s concerted efforts are focused on de-addiction and rehabilitation programs, with strategic measures implemented to disrupt the supply chain of narcotics, he said.

        The Chief Minister also emphasized utilizing Swami Vivekananda’s principles to prepare and empower the youth along with underscoring the government’s commitment to holistic development.

        In line with Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision to propel the nation towards development by 2047, the government has launched the Viksit Bharat Jan Samkalp Yatra campaign. This initiative aims to bring the benefits of various schemes directly to the doorsteps of those who have been deprived, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

        The Chief Minister said that in a pioneering move towards good governance, the state government has introduced Mission Karmayogi. This initiative involves comprehensive training for officials and employees across various departments, focusing on ethics, conduct, and enhancing efficiency, he added.

        The Chief Minister also reiterated the government’s dedication to serving the 2.8 crore people of Haryana as a united family. Through schemes inspired by the spirit of Antyodaya, the government remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every citizen, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

        Meanwhile, before the program, the Chief Minister also flagged off the awareness campaign against substance abuse led by the Sarv Kalyan Manch Haryana.

        Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Deputy Speaker, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, Mayor, Sh. Gautam Sardana and other dignitaries also remained present on this occasion.
