POWERGRID Inter Regional Carrom Tournament -2023 gets underway at Chandigarh
A three day POWERGRID Inter – Regional Carrom Tournament 2023 commenced here at Hotel Novotel, Chandigarh. Eleven teams from various Regions of POWERGRID are participating in this tournament. The participating teams are Southern Region-I(SR-I), Southern Region-II(SR-II), Eastern Region-I (ER-I), Eastern Region-II(ER-II), Western Region-I(WR-I), Western Region-II(WR-II), North Eastern Region(NER), Northern Region-I(NR-I), Northern Region-III(NR-III),Corporate Centre (CC) and the host region Northern Region-II(NR-II) .The matches in the tournament are being conducted on league cum knockout basis.During this three day tournament, the participating teams will fight it out in Team, doubles and Single championship in both Male and Female categories.
The tournament began today with a grand opening. The tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director (NRTS-II) in the presence of Shri A.H.Khan, Sr. GM(Haryana),Shri Vinod P Baxla, General Manager(HR). and other officials of POWERGRID and Chandigarh Carrom Association. The tournament is beingconducted under the supervision of Carrom association of Chandigarh..Till the filing of this report, matches were being played under the team championship with teams from WR-I,CC,SR-I &SR-II leading in Female and NER.WR-II,ER-II and NR-III leading in male categories.
