Dr. Balwant Singh Cheema, Ex-Zonal Incharge, Chandigarh & Sanyojak Mohali physically merged into the Almighty Nirankar at 1.30 a.m. today (January 12,2018) at the family’s own hospital Cheema Medical Complex in Mohali, Chandigarh. The end came after a brief illness. He was 88.
The funeral took place at 12:30 p.m. today in Mohali. A large number of devotees of Mission attended the funeral. Rev Gobind Singh Ji, Chairman Central Planning and Advisory Board represented the Headquarters of the Mission.
To pay tributes to Dr. Cheema and take inspiration from his long devoted life, a special congregation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Phase VI, Mohali.
Dr. Balwant Singh Cheema was born in the family of Shri Anokh Singh Ji on March 14, 1930 at Village Lasoi, district Ludhiana in Punjab. M.B.B.S. MS (General Surgery), MS (Orthopaedics), Dr. Cheema served the Directorate of Health Services, Punjab from where he retired as Director in the year 1988.
After his retirement from Government service he established his own hospital – Cheema Medical Complex. Dr. Mrs. J.K. Cheema who also retired as Additional Director, Health Services, Punjab accompanied him. Presently, the hospital is being looked after by their son’s Dr. Ajaywant Cheema & Dr. Jaiwant Cheema.
Dr. Cheema was a recognised name in patient care. The Cheema Medical Complex is well-known nursing home backed with a vision to offer the best in patient care and equipped with technologically advanced health care facilities. The hospital is easily accessible. A team of well-trained medical staff, non-medical staff and experienced clinical technicians work round the clock to offer various services that include ambulance service.
Dr. Cheema had a long association with the Mission. He received God-knowledge from Shri Amrik Singh Ji, IAS in November 1977. He was made Sanyojak, Mohali in 2008. He continued to hold this responsibility till he resigned on health grounds on September 4, 2017. He was also the Zonal Incharge, Chandigarh from May 2009 till he retired. Dr. Cheema was also given the permission to reveal Brahmgyan from July, 2009.
Now, Dr. Cheema’s family is headed by his wife Dr. Mrs. J.K. Cheema who is currently Sanyojak, Mohali. Their two sons and their families are also devotee followers of the Mission.
