Innovation Mission Punjab, a unique PPP collaborates with the Punjab Government to boost the start-up ecosystem: Innovation Mission Punjab, is a unique public-private partnership that aims to bring in leading global investors and experts to catalyse the start-up ecosystem in the State. The Mission intends to unleash Punjab’s growth potential and create a thriving economy that generates jobs. The Mission recently hosted a virtual introduction and ideation conclave, chaired by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab, Sh. Anirudh Tewari and the Mission Chairman, Mr. Pramod Bhasin.
The conclave hosted a myriad of stakeholders from the State including the Principal Secretary Industries, Commerce and Investment Promotion, Tejveer Singh and the Principal Secretaries of Higher Education, Vocational and Industrial Education, Agriculture, all Vice-Chancellors from Private and Public Universities in the State along with the CEO & Mission Director, Mr. Somveer Anand. The conclave focused on active collaboration with a multitude of universities, colleges, students, and other stakeholders to create a dynamic community aiming to propel the spirit of entrepreneurship in Punjab. Additionally, the conclave focused on introducing the marquee programs set to pave the way for the start-up ecosystem of Punjab and highlighted the array of initiatives undertaken by Innovation Mission Punjab.
Speaking at the conclave, Mr. Pramod Bhasin, Chairman, Innovation Mission Punjab, said, “Innovation Mission Punjab was chartered with a vision to energize Punjab’s entrepreneurial community, and it endorses the spirit of a self-reliant Punjab. This unique partnership with the government aims to amalgamate the state’s entrepreneurial strength. We extend our gratitude to the Government of Punjab for our joint Mission’s commitment. We look forward to a successful collaboration to boost Punjab’s start-up ecosystem.”
Mission CEO, Mr. Anand added, “Punjab as a state has always been known for its entrepreneurial spirit and initiatives. Innovation Mission Punjab will serve as a catalyst and an enabler towards upholding the start-up culture of the State. The Mission is grateful for the strong support offered by the Government of Punjab to bring to life the bold vision set out for Innovation Mission Punjab.”
The Mission focuses on Punjab’s sectorial strengths with an objective to bring in best-in class domestic and global investors and mentors, to invest and support start-ups scale to their global ambitions. The Mission will provide a composite sustenance blueprint to a start-up through its journey and more importantly, a platform for entrepreneurs who dare to innovate.
This Mission also has a special focus on women led start-ups, providing specially curated programs suited to their unique needs. Chaired by Mr. Pramod Bhasin, the Mission will leverage the dynamism of the Punjabi diaspora, facilitating them to participate in the state’s renewed growth. The Mission has an exemplary panel of global experts and industry leaders, as mentors and advisors, including Naina Lal Kidwai, Saurabh Srivastava, Rajan Anandan, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Manoj Kohli, and Dr Ajay Shah amongst others.

Entrepreneurs from Punjab have built a plethora of Indian and International businesses having a net-worth of more than 50 Billion USD (35,000 Crore Rupees) and 100 Billion USD (70,000 Crore Rupees), respectively. Innovation Mission Punjab will strengthen the incubators’ accelerators and launch programs for new sectors with a vision to bolster the ecosystem further. The Mission brings in an inflow of knowledge that nurtures a conducive start-up environment. The Mission is actively rolling out key initiatives of Pollinator, Accelerator, and an Innovation Fund to create a lucrative environment for the start-ups to succeed.
