Students of Shishu Niketan Public School, Mansa Devi Complex, Sector 5, Panchkula put up a grand show on their Annual Day at Inderdhanush Auditorium. Major General Bhupinder Singh (Retd), Vishisht Seva Medal* was the chief guest of the occasion. The cultural programme based on the theme NAVRASA commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest accompanied by Founder Principal Mrs Amita Khorana and Principal Mrs. Ranjna Bakshi followed by offering prayers to Lord Krishna. The cultural bonanza with almost hundred percent participation of the students enthralled the parents and gave an opportunity to all the students to exhibit their talent and discover new confidence.
Pre-schoolers swayed to the tunes of Tan Tan Tan. Well synchronised dance steps and magnificent performances of nursery class dancers on Love You Zindagi and It’s Magic were superb. All nine types of Rasas i.e emotions were beautifully showcased through scintillating performances like Pyari Maa, Sandese Aate Hain, Gurus of Peace and Shiv Tandav. The message to Save Earth Save Energy is conveyed by class I children dancing on Let’s Save Energy. The mime performance was there to make audience laugh beyond limits. Rhythmic notes and thumping beats of drums while dancing on Dholi Taro filled the air with enthusiasm.
The juggernaut of cultural programme was set rolling with various songs by school choir. Students clad in conventional ‘Bhangra Giddha’ dresses swayed enthusiastically to lend an air of festivity to the event. The chief guest gave away prizes to the meritorious students of session 2016-17.He also appreciated the efforts and zeal of the participants and teachers. Mrs. Ranjna Bakshi the Principal read the Annual Report of the school and paid tributes to Mrs Suchinta Khorana, Founder of Shishu Niketan schools.
She also extended a vote of thanks. A scintillating bouquet of cultural extravaganza came to end with National Anthem.
