2021 Silver Medalist Srikanth Kidambi for Badminton collaborated with Yellow Class: Srikanth Kidambi, World Champion Silver Medalist partners with  Yellow Class, an Elevation Capital backed edtech platform where more than a million online lessons are taken by kids free of cost every month. The free coursework contains five sessions on badminton, introducing the sport with all the essential rules necessary for a kid to play. The course session is about 2 hours long, explaining the rules, body posture, footwork, injury prevention, strokes, and unique aspects of Srikanth’s game.

 

Children are keen learners, and they thrive when they feel a sense of accomplishment and success through cognitive skills. One of the most effective ways to improve children’s success is by engaging in sports. sports helps kids stay focused. With a lot of energy to burn and fun elements involved, many children love playing sports because it gives them a feeling of belongingness and competitiveness.

 

Speaking on the new course launched, Arpit Mittal, Cofounder and CTO, said, “We want kids to have fun on the Yellow Class platform. Srikanth Kidambi shared his excitement on the collaboration saying “It is a pleasure to teach kids through Yellow Class. Seeing the huge potential of Indians, I wish to add more value by mentoring kids at an early age. I understand the importance of a role model and a good Coach and I am glad to be collaborating with Yellow Class to be the same to the young kids out there. Additionally, Yellow class is also collaborating with celebrities and creating free programs like Singing with Shaan, Cooking with Masterchef Ripu, Yoga with Vidya Malvade and Ramayana with Shri Arun Govil Ji. The reasons for bringing these celebrities to mentor kids are many – i. These are role models for a lot of kids, ii. They have years of experience in their domain and are masters of their skills and, iii. These celebrities look for opportunities to mentor kids as they understand the importance of a mentor at an early age. The platform has been able to retain the kids since they have fun on the platform and aren’t forced to learn anything. It has showcased disruptive growth and focuses on deeper consumer engagement by gamifying the experience for kids. Additionally, the brand has a user base in over 52 countries with more than 2 million parents being a part of the community.

The startup aims to captivate children in various disciplines and offers programs in dance, GK, yoga, arts and crafts in interactive classes and workshops through, Podcasts, Stories, DIY sessions. Furthermore, it had raised $6 million in a Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital in August 2021.
