Technology will be vital and key fundamental transformational factor for realizing the vision of $ 5 trillion GDP in next 5 years said by Mr Rajendra Kumar, Additional Secretary, MeitY, Govt of India today at CII Cloud Summit. He mentioned that MeitY is working closely with various departments of both Central and States along with industry to assure and turn vision into reality in terms of supporting and creating strong digital ecosystem. He stated, leveraging the opportunity, MeitY is taking various initiatives and working towards making India as a Global Hub of Data Centre. He mentioned that MeitY is implementing 24 CoEs in emerging technologies involving industry as partner to attract startup to raise and support them through funding.
In his address, Mr Abhimanyu Munjal, Chairman, CII Northern Region said that adoption of cloud technology is important in today’s competitive world, becoming more prevalent for businesses everywhere. He stated, it’s also a much greener solution than standard solutions and saves energy, can help business to drastically lower its carbon footprint, which is always a good thing. Now, more than ever, cloud computing is vital to helping businesses and people deliver on and realize the promise of digital transformation expressed by Mr Munjal.
Mr Vishal Awal, Summit Chairman and Managing Partner – Telecom, IBM India in his address said that enterprises that rapidly reinvent themselves in a holistic manner to become truly digital is a winner in post covid world. He also said that embracing hybrid multi-cloud platform is critical for enterprises of all sizes to gain a competitive edge via enhanced agility, seamless digital transformation and superior customer experience driven by intelligent workflows, and the ability to make high-impact real-time contextual decisions. Aggressively moving compute to where enterprise data resides and gaining sound insights via advanced analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities is the key and the cloud technologies facilitate that vital outcome said by Mr Awal.
Speaking at the Summit, Mr Puneet Chandok, President, Amazon Internet Services Private Ltd said that cloud changes everything when it comes to agility, speed and is fast becoming the foundation for innovation in India. He mentioned that in this new age of continuous disruption, we all have to move much faster, experiment with agility and innovate like never before.
Ms Irina Ghose, Executive Director- Cloud Solutions, Microsoft India in her address said that in this age of disruption, trust by design is pivotal. She opined that cloud would be the key enabler for companies in their digital transformation journey and the pandemic has further accelerated this mandate.
While speaking at the summit, Mr A S Rajgopal, MD & CEO, NxtGen Datacenter & Cloud Technologies Pvt Ltd mentioned that businesses are impacted by external forces,that have never been forecasted or anticipated. He said that the situation demands dynamic agility within enterprises to meet changing customer expectations
Introducing the theme of the summit, Mr Romal Shetty, President – Consulting, Deloitte India stated, cloud computing is a technological marvel that has taken the world of business by storm as it can help organizations find a way to survive and thrive in an uncertain business environment.
The summit aimed to provide a platform for cloud computing service providers to converge and embed their views on cloud that has opened enormous possibilities for innovation, growth and ease of doing business to help enterprises to grow post COVID-19 world.
