The Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police resolved the Burglary case in which 4 crore 4 Lacs rupees of Currency Chest of Axis Bank, Sec.34, Chandigarh has been wrongly taken away by his employee Sunil Kumar S/o Ram Murti R/o Vill. Bhawerwali, Po. Tikkar Hills, Morni, Panchkula, Haryana.
Brief Facts
On 11.4.21 a case FIR No. 60 u/s 457,381 IPC PS-34, Chandigarh was registered on the complaint of Mr. Ritish Kumar S/o Sh. SubhashChander R/o H.No. 502, Tower 4 A, Royal Estate, Zirakpur, regarding theft of cash 4 Crore 4 Lacs from Currency Chest of Axis bank, SCO No. 134-136, Sec.34A, Chandigarh by one Sunil Kumar who was working as Security Guard in the office.
On the very beginning of the registration of the case the Crime Branch started work on it. A team headed by SI Neeraj Kumar under the supervision of Insp. Harinder Singh Sekhon have been constituted under the overall supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Rajeev Kumar Ambasta to arrest the absconding accused. As the accused is very clever and switched off his mobile phones, but he was very active on social media and Jewansathi.com. The team of Crime Branch analyzed the social media and Jiwansathi.com and after the untired work the team of Crime Branch got major success to know his lifestyle, vehicle and whereabouts. It came into knowledge that he was frequently a visitor to Raipur Rani. After the groundwork, human intelligence was developed and information was received that on 14.4.21 he will go to Chandigarh. Acting upon this information SI Neeraj Kumar alongwith team under the supervision of Insp. Harinder Singh Sekhon, Incharge Crime Branch and DSP Sh. Rajeev Ambastatailed him from Raipur Rani and nabbed near Bridge,Shastri Nagar, Manimajra on the instance of human intelligence.During the course of interrogation he disclosed his name as Sunil Kumar. His search was conducted at the spot and Rs. 3.14 Lacs was recovered from his backpack. He was arrested in the present case and he further disclosed that he has hidden the rest of the amount in the jungle in front of Hallo Majra, Chandigarh. On the instance of accused Sunil Kumar, the rest amount was Rs. 4 Crore was also recovered from the forest area lying in another bag.Total 4 Crore 3 Lacs and 14 thousand were recovered.

The accused is presently in police custody and will be produced in the court for obtaining the police remand to ascertain whether there is involvement of other person or not and recovery of articles purchased from stolen money.
