Sanjeet Gangani regales the city audience with his remarkable performance
Mesmerizing performance by Delhi-based Sanjeet Gangani, the new sensation of Jaipur Gharana of Kathak marked the inaugural day of the three-day Kathak Utsav organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra here at M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium here . This event was also telecasted live on social media platforms like official YouTube channel, face book and Instagram page of the Kendra.
Sanjeet is son and disciple of Pt. Rajendra Gangani who is Kathak virtuoso of Jaipur Gharana . He is graded artist of Delhi Doordarshan. He performed all over India and abroad and got appreciation from art world.
The programme got off to a majestic start with a stuti based on Rag peelu with bols “Rangeela Shambhu” In this Sanjeet offered prayers to Lord Shiva. After this he moved on to present shudha nritya (pure dance) of Jaipur Gharana set to 12 matra chautal. Thaat, aamad, uthaan, paran, chakradar paran, upaj, gat, nikas so on were presented with captivating and graceful movements and fine footwork. His abhinaya piece was also mesmerizing in which he presented Guru Bhajan “Guru bin aise kaun kare” in this his devotion and respect for a Guru was well received. He concluded his recital with traditional compositions of Jaipur Gharana set to drut laya. He got repeated thunder applause on his presentations.
A fine team provided accompaniment with Sanjeet like Mohit Gangani and Nishit Gangani on Tabla , Samiullah Khan on Vocal and harmonium, Karan Gangani on padhant and Rajesh Kumar on Sarangi.
