Tata Trusts launches health campaign on COVID-19 in Punjab; 14 lakh people expected to have been reached

Tata Trusts has begun a state-wide community outreach through a series of video and audio messages to encourage adoption of health practices as promoted by the Government of India, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These messages are publicly available on the Trusts’ social media platforms for any organisation to download and use. Beginning 31st March, the exercise is expected to have already reached to over 14 lakh people in the state.
The campaign ‘5 kadam, Corona mukt jeevan’, ranges from video messages, short animation videos and infographics to audio messages, and SMS based messaging.
For wider deployment by any interested organisation, the Trusts have made publicly available through social media about 300 such videos and audio messages, in different languages including Punjabi and Hindi. All of them are available in the playlist here
Well-known celebrities like Sh Jaswinder Bhalla, Sh Kanwar Grewal and Sh Bal Mukand Sharma have lent their support with video and audio messages.
The Trusts have deployed 20 master trainers who in turn have trained a pool of 215community resource persons (village volunteers) to deliver the message till the last mile. Through the existing network of the Trusts’ programmes, the volunteers, associate organisation of the Trusts, line departments, GP representatives, community radios, village-based public address systems, and use of various internet and communication technologies, the programme is expected to have reached out to over 14 lakh people in Punjab, till date.
