VIRTUAL LEARNING AMID LOCKDOWN; GGDSD COLLEGE SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS SIX DAY ONLINE WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH ETHICS AND METHODS
Teaching faculty and library professionals from Chandigarh and Punjab and a participant from AIMST University, Malaysia took part in the six day online workshop on “Research Ethics and Quantitative Techniques for Research and Publications” organised by College Library, GGDSD College, Chandigarh from 25 April to 30 April 2020.
The Online learning initiative aimed to engage and empower the faculty during lockdown, hosted Live streaming of informative sessions conducted by experts in the field across India by using Cisco Webex application.
Addressing the valedictory function, Sh. Upkar Krishan Sharma, President, GGDSD College Society, Chandigarh informed that it was a insightful attempt of the college to ensure productive use of lockdown and improve skill set of faculty through innovative E-learning modules.
Dr. Balraj Thapar, Principal GGDSD College thanked the management for their patronage and support in organising the workshop. He applauded the efforts of the workshop coordinator, Gurpreet Sohal, and his team for effectively conducting the learning programme online.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Akhtar Parvez, University Librarian, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, also spoke to the audience in the valedictory address, telling them the importance of adhering to ethical standards and procedures for research.

Eminent resource persons like Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Dr. Kutty Kumar, Dr. Sridhar Gutam, Senior Scientist ICAR, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Pathak, Dr. Anup Kumar Das of JNU, Delhi, Dr. Nirmal Singh delivered lectures on the online platform.
