ADMINISTRATOR  REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS MADE IN THE CITY

The Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh Sh. V.P Singh Badnore alongwith Sh Manoj Parida, Adviser, UT, Chandigarh presided over a review meeting with Senior Officials of tricity and reviewed the situation regarding Corona menace.

The Administrator inaugurated a newly developed android base mobile app “CHDCOVID”. It will be a single point platform which will provide all information related to COVD-19 in Chandigarh.  Ms. Nazuk Kumar, IAS, Director IT presented an application for inauguration to the Administrator, which was developed in-house by the Society for Promotion  of IT in Chandigarh (SPIC). Now, the residents of Chandigarh can access all the guidelines, orders and notifications issued by Administration and Government of India. Even media can use this platform for coverage. 

ADMINISTRATOR  REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS MADE IN THE CITY

Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor Chandigarh was personally present in the meeting . She presented a cheque of Rs 50 lakhs (Fifty  Lakhs) which was the contribution of one day salary of regular employees of Municipal Corporation to the Covid Relief Fund.  Governor thanked Municipal employees for the contribution.

The Administrator further,  reviewed the medical arrangements with Director, PGIMER, Director Principal, GMCH and Director Health Services.  He expressed his concern regarding possible infection of doctors and health workers.  He directed that the procedure laid down by Ministry of Health should strictly be followed and healthcare workers may be more careful while examining the patients.  All cases of respiratory complications must be treated very carefully.

 He also desired that the contact tracing for late Sh. Om Parkash, resident of Naya Gaon must be done and it may be ensured that the contacted persons should be put under quarantine.

He was also  informed that though the Home Quarantine notices in front of houses will be removed after completion of 14 days, yet the residents will be advised to maintain distance within the houses and to stay indoor during the curfew period.  It was also brought out that adequate medicines, medical equipments etc. are available in the city and the suppliers have been told to ensure that there is no scarcity anywhere.

The Finance Secretary Sh A K Sinha informed that all Banks and ATMs are being kept open. During relaxation hours people can queue up and avail this facility while maintaing social distance. 

Commissioner, MCC, Sh. KK Yadav mentioned that mobile ration shops have now been introduced for catering to the needs of out-lying areas in Dhanas and Maloya including EWS colonies.  He also mentioned that Markfed, Punjab Agro and HAFED will provide door to door services of all groceries items at reasonable rates.  Commissioner, MC clarified that Metro and Best Price will provide supplies to the Chandigarh retailers on regular basis.

Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh Sh. Mandip Brar mentioned that the demand for packed cooked food is increasing day by day.  On 30/03/2020, a total of 34,329 packets were distributed among the poor and needy through the mobile vans.  Anyone who intends to contribute can contact Deputy Commissioner office. 

Director General of Police presented pictures taken on drone during curfew in the city.  Governor directed him to strictly implement the sealing of borders to ensure that no migrant labour travels outside Chandigarh, which may lead to spread of infection. The Administrator advised both Panchkula and Mohali to reduce the number of passes, since such liberal issues of large number of passes were creating unnecessary crowd and congestion in Chandigarh during the curfew period.  

  ADMINISTRATOR  REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS MADE IN THE CITY

Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser informed Sh. Badnore that the BPL population of Chandigarh will be provided with 5 Kg. wheat (per person per month for 3 months) and 1 Kg. of pulses (per family per month for 3 months).  Necessary arrangements are being made.  

Adviser also informed that the Police officials who are retiring on 31/03/2020 will be given extension upto end of May, 2020 and nurses, ward boys, and ministerial staff working in Health Department, who are scheduled to retire on 31/03/2020 will continue till end of September, 2020. 

The Administrator appealed to the residents that they must stay indoors and avail the facilities being provided by the Administration for door to door delivery.  He appealed to the citizens to respect the curfew to ensure that corona infection is contained.

The meeting was attended to by the Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida, Director General of Police, Finance Secretary, Commissioner, MC, Deputy Commissioner and Additional Commissioner, MC. The Governor also interacted with Deputy Commissioners of Mohali and Panchkula, Director, PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.

Medical Bulletin :- Till date 103 Samples have been tested. Today, two more patients have been found to be tested Positive for COVID19. The details is as under :-

1. A 31 year Male resident of Chandigarh with no travel history admitted at CD-ward of PGIMER has tested positive for nCoV. He was a contact of positive case of Nayagaon, Punjab who was admitted in PGI for SARI (severe acute respiratory infection) initially.

2. A 40 year male resident of Chandigarh was sampled at Mayo Hospital, Mohali Punjab. He has tested positive for nCoV. He came in contact with a person who returned from Canada.

The Administrator has ordered a massive search for contact tracing and complete Quarantine of the contacts.
