Alumni Meet 2020 makes SD College Alumni Nostalgic
GGDSD College celebrated 71st Republic Day and its Annual Alumni Meet on Sunday, January, 26th 2020. Principal Dr Balraj Thapar unfurled the flag, which was followed by the singing of the national anthem by the staff and the students.
Deputy Director, PGI Mr. Kumar Gaurav Dhawan (IRS) and DSP, Chandigarh, Mr. Charanjeet Singh Virk college alumnus graced the occasion as chief guest and guest of honor respectively. While conveying their appreciation for being conferred with the honor, Mr. Dhawan recalled his college journey to the present day and shared several anecdotes.
MLA Dhuri Punjab , Mr. Dalvir Singh ; Chairman ICAI Chandigarh, Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharma, Dr. Shyni Paul Principal, St Anne’s School and many other distinguished Alumni such as Mr. Sumit Dalal (National, All India Gold medalist in Swimming and Water Polo) , Ms. Suman Yadav. (World University Games Gold medalist in Judo), Mr. Ravi Sharma (World University Games, Gold medalist, Fencing) and Mr. Sukhbir Singh ( National Gold Medalist in Handball);
Ms. Arsh Mangat, Miss Chandigarh Punjaban 2017 college‘s eminent alumni graced the event with their presence. They were felicitated with Appreciation awards.
Principal, Dr. Balraj Thapar expressed his gratitude, to Mr. Dhawan and the Alumni for sparing their invaluable time and being part of the felicitation. Addressing the alumni, Dr. Thapar stated that “Reunions always spark a bit of nostalgia as it has done today. Our prestigious Alumni have been making waves all across the world. Their accomplishments always make the institution proud.”

Musical rendition by alumnus Mr. Sanjay Bhatt and scintillating cultural performances left the audience spellbound. The event was a spectacular success and nostalgia lingered as the alumni members reconnected with their college mates and shared their success and achievements.
