CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME FOR TEACHERS AT RIMT WORLD SCHOOL
The Capacity Building Programme on the pertinent topic “The Classroom Management”, a CBSE Training Programme was organized by RIMT Worls School. A total number of 31 CBSE teachers from across the tricity participated in the workshop held on 20th and 21st September 2019 from 8:30 am to 4:30pm.
It’s a training programme initiated by CBSE and was an endeavour on the part of our school to keep the teachers abreast with the latest strategies to manage the classroom environment effectively. The Resource Persons Mrs Amanpreet Kaur & Mrs Jaya Bhardwaj mainly focused on classroom size, student learning needs, souse content, level of students, availability of time, willingness to take risk and information about different methods of teaching of an effective class room management
Just as good management enhances learning by creating a good environment for teaching, similarly effective instruction contributes to a well managed class. Proper instructions help in preventing confusion, boredom and laziness in the classroom. Activities are an integral part of the teaching – learning process. Teachers must select and plan activities that result in a high level of student learning and involvement. Several problems can occur during the transition period and to explain this concept an activity was assigned to the teachers. They were given a situation to solve and then they shared their experience. Teachers need to be authoritative but not authoritarian. The most effective teacher- student relationship is characterized by – Consistent Communication, An emotionally-safe Learning space, Mutual trust and respect. Interesting real life scenarios in today’s classroom such as handling special needs’ children, unruly behaviour, addiction and abusive language were discussed. An individual activity based on managing Classes with large Number of students was enriching.
Before winding up the two-day workshop the teachers were administered a feedback questionnaire on various aspects of the orientation.
Capacity Building Programe for Teachers at Rimt World School
It was a fruitful and enriching session, full of hands’-on activities for teachers to indulge and learn from. Teachers now look forward to applying these strategies effectively in the Classroom. The Principal Mrs Anjali Sharma thanked the resource persons for enlightening the teachers.
