National Crafts Mela to begin from 9th November, 2018
 
The National Crafts Mela will make a comeback with its 10th edition from 9th November to 18th November 2018 at Kalagram, Chandigarh. The Mela, a joint venture of Chandigarh Administration and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) will be inaugurated by Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh.
 
National Crafts Mela is the unique event that showcases the diversity of handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of our country. To add the musical and rhythmic element to the event, this event brings together the large number of renowned national folk artists and cultural groups.
 
170 number of Stalls have been constructed at the site to display spectacular work of artisan and craftsmen of Chandigarh and other states. The main attraction of the event will be the stall dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The stall will showcase some of the rare pictures of Mahatma Gandhi’s life, freedom struggle, and other aspects of his remarkable journey.

Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration
 
Cultural evenings have always been the most entertaining and attractive part of the event. The fair has grown in stature and has got on board some acclaimed artists and bands for the cultural performances. Renowned celebrities of the Punjabi industry like Hans Raj Hans, Satinder Sartaj, Jazzy B, Lakhwinder Wadali will be spreading the musical magic with their performances.
