550th Nagar Kirtan of Guru Nanak Dev Ji reached Chandigarh
On the Occasion, of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, which is expected to reach the city late night today.
Several parts of Mohali have been decorated with flags, buntings, flowers and balloons. The devotees have set up tents and “langar” pandals to welcome the procession.
“Nagar kirtan will be halted at guudwara Amb Sahib in case it reaches late. After passing through several parts of Mohali, the procession will enter Chandigarh,” said the organisers.
The police have made elaborate arrangements to avoid jams or untoward incident.

Not only Sikhs from Nankana Sahib and Hindu followers of Guru Nanak Dev from the Sindh Province of Pakistan participated in Nagar Kirtan, but many muslim families of Nanka Sahib accompanied it to Wagah Border in their vehicles.
