Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 13 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 13 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 14 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11 = 2 cases, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-19 = 3 cases, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-MJ = 2 cases, PS-IT Park = 1 case, PS-Maloya = 3 cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Roshan Ali @ Sony R/o # 361, Samadhi Gate, Mani Majra, Chandigarh near Community Centre,Mani Majra, Chandigarh and recovered 66 gram Opium from his possession. A case FIR No. 215, U/S 18 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Pardeep Kumar @ Deepu R/o # 2193/29, PWT, Mani Majra, Chandigarh from Indira Colony Mani Majra, Chandigarh and recovered 250 gram of Charas from his possession. A case FIR No. 125, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Kiran Pal R/o # 368, Kachi Colony Dhanas, Chandigarh  and Ravi R/o # 198, Chiraga Market, Dhanas, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Gurudwara Sahib, Toba, Village Dhanas, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 1000/- from their possession. A case FIR No. 134, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. All later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Prevention of Immoral Trafficking

Chandigarh Police arrested Arvind Kumar R/o # 733, Shanti Nagar Mani Majra, Chandigarh at parking of Shivalik Garden,Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 216, U/S 4 & 5 Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956 has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

104 boxes of illicit liquor recovered

A case U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-11 Chandigarh against unknown person who ran away after leaving car No. PB-10P-8276 containing 104 boxes of country made liquor near Night Food Street, Sector 14, Chandigarh. 104 boxes of country made liquor have been recovered from said car. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A case FIR No. 98, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. J.P Bhardwaj, Security Officer, Hotel Mountview, Sector-10, Chandigarh against unknown person who stolen away four Exide Batteries from Hotel Mountview, Sector-10, Chandigarh on 07.05.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry Death

A case FIR No. 99, U/S 304-B IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Village Badmajra, Distt. Mohali (PB) who alleged that Bhupinder R/o # 319, Sector-9, Chandigarh harassed complainant’s daughter due to which she committed suicide at # 319, Sector-9, Chandigarh on 11.05.2018. Bhupinder Singh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 Dowry

A lady resident of Sector 42C, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Ambala Cant, (HR) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 46, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

 A lady resident of Small flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others all resident of Jagadhari, Distt. Yamuna Nagar (HR) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 47, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Suraj R/o Electricity Office, Sector-46D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his Activa Scooter No. CH-01BP-4092 along with DL, PAN card, ATM card and Rs. 30,000/- which was parked near Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Sector 46, Chandigarh.  A case FIR No. 182, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of PU Campus, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away her Activa Scooter No. CH-01AB-8884 from parking near Central Revenue Building, Kachi Parking, Sector-17/C, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 153, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

        Sh. Arjun Kumar Balla R/o # 1126/C, Sector-46, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen cash Rs. 10,000/-, gold, diamond & silver jewelry from his residence on 11.05.2018. A case FIR No. 183, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 90, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Panchkula (HR) against driver of I-20 car No. PB65S-9791 namely Snehpreet R/o H.No. 1184, Sector-79, Mohali, (PB) who hit to complainant’s car No. HR33E-0041 near light point, Sector-49/50, Chandigarh on 08.05.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Sh. Rakesh Kumar R/o near Peer Baba Mazar, Jhujhar Nagar, Mohali (PB) reported that unknown person on motor cycle snatched mobile phone from complainant near Park, Sector 38(West), Chandigarh on 11.05.2018. A case FIR No. 123, U/S 356, 379, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
