Kuantum Papers Limited and the Soil and Water Conservation Department, Punjab, have initiated a significant plantation drive across various villages in the Mohali district, in a collaborative effort to promote environmental conservation. The campaign was held in Soe Majra Village, where local residents and the village youth wing joined hands to plant a total of 2,500 fruit-bearing and shade-providing saplings under the guidance of Mrs. Aparna Khaitan.
Mr. Ajesh Gupta, Senior General Manager of Kuantum Papers said, “At Kuantum Papers, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back to nature. Our objective behind this initiative is to promote community involvement in ecological conservation efforts and foster a sense of responsibility for future generations to follow.”
The plantation drive saw active participation from officials of the Soil and Water Conservation Department. Mr. Paramvir Singh Mavi, Sub-Divisional Soil Conservation Officer, Mohali, and Mr. Anil Bana, Soil Conservation Officer, Mohali, were present and underscored the department’s dedication to working with local communities in their environmental stewardship efforts. From the village side, the Youth Wing Head, Mr. Kulwinder Singh and Baljeet Singh played a significant role in engaging the community for this noble cause. “We are committed to collaborating with local communities to enhance ecological conservation and ensure sustainable practices,” stated Mr. Mavi.
This effort, launched by Kuantum Papers Limited and the Punjab Soil and Water Conservation Department, aims to instill in the villagers a feeling of environmental responsibility and promote a greener, more sustainable future for the region.
