In a major breakthrough the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Amanjot Singh is able to arrest the most notorious persons involved in recent snatchings and auto lifting from Chandigarh.
- Manoj Kumar s/o Amar Nath r/o 610/1 Small flats Dhanas Colony Chandigarh age 18 ½ years
- Rinku s/o Jahan r/o 1622/C small flats Dhanas Chd
- Yad Ram s/o Ram Bharose r/o 1551/B, small flats Dhanas Chd
- Kaku Ram @ Kamal S/o Raju Ram r/o 150, near small market gurudwara Dhanas Chandigarh
- Sanjay Verma s/o Ram Ashre r/o 27 near Valmiki Mandir Village Maloya Chd.
- Mohammad Shadan S/o Irshad Ali r/o House No. 374/C, Near Dispensary EWS, Colony Dhanas, UT, Chandigarh.
On 13.5.18 a secret information was received that the above said accused persons were involved in several cases of snatching and vehicle lifting presently roaming in the area of Police Station Maloya, Chandigarh. On the basis of secret information the naka was laid and two of them were apprehended while they were looking for their another prey. All were arrested and on further interrogation and investigation total 12 cases were worked out. Out of which 8 are snatching and 4 are of vehicle theft.

Besides this, two persons who were involved in several burglaries and house theft in Chandigarh were also arrested by Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Amanjot Singh.
- Pankaj @ Munna S/o Shamul Vill. Akhlashpur PS-Dhaliwal, Distt. Gurdaspur. Age 23 years
- A lady, age 22 years.

On the basis of secret information the naka was laid and both of them were apprehended and from further interrogation and investigation total 6 cases of burglaries and house theft were solved, in which huge amount of gold and silver ornaments are recovered.
