The enforcement wing of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today conducted major anti encroachment drive and removed encroachments & illegal vendors sitting on MCC land from sector 19 Sadar & Palika Bazar, furniture market, Sector 34 and Industrial area Phase-II, Ramdarbar. During the drive 176 challans issued to the violators.
The enforcement team under the supervision of Sh. Sunil Dutt, Inspector, Enforcement assisted by Sub Inspectors of Enforcement wing, MCC removed furniture items, spray & polish machines and tools, cloth items and shoes etc. The drives were carried peacefully and no untoward incident took place.
During the drive, the concerned officials from Estate office, UT, Chandigarh were called to take action as per law against the violators, who encroached the roof tops of the shops in sector 34 and other areas.
Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Municipal Commissioner warned the violators to not encroach upon the Municipal land and suggested the shopkeepers to avoid showcasing their sale items in corridors of markets otherwise face strict legal action by the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.
